Has any one else experience prolonged sickness with norovirus in a 2 year old

Hi, looking for some advice, has anyone else's 2 year old still been sick after 5 days of the norovirus? My 2 year old caught it from his cousin on Sunday, the sickness was every 5 mins so we ended up at A&E where he was given anti sickness medicine to stop the sickness. I was told to only give him apple juice to drink. From Sunday to Wednesday the diarrhoea got pretty bad and I was changing up to 20 nappies in the day and through the night. He was also still not able to keep anything down. This continued till Wednesday. I called the GP Wednesday who said it can last longer then 48 hours and was told try cutting food out. I then didn't give him any food for a few hours before bed only water. This morning he's woke up and wanted food so I've given him so toast, he's had 2 squares and thrown up. He is still drinking water. I really don't know what to do. We are on day 5 and not sure if this is normal, my other son is 5 and has had the bug over the years and got better within a few days and when I google about sickness it says it should only last 2 days. What do I do? Give him apple juice again? Or keep on the water? Feed him or don't? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Phoned A&E children's ward asking for advice but they don't seem interested. Sorry if I've rambled on. Thank you for reading x

I had a similar experience with my 5 year old. The bug lasted for 6 days and she was sick every single day and was screaming in pain with stomach cramps. It was horrendous. I called 111 on day 4 and had an out of hours drs appointment. She then said to go to a&e if she was sick again which she was the following day.
I would try to see your GP again or call 111. Is he having wet nappies? My concern would be dehydration.

So his nappies are wet still however with the diarrhoea it's hard to see what's wee and what's poo. Will call the GP at 8. Thank you for replying, did they give her anything? Did yoi give juice? Or just water?

this happened to my DD and she ended up in hospital with dehydration. Please do call GP and consider A&E. Sorry, I don’t want to make you feel anxious but equally it was quite serious for us.

Okay thank you, was she still drinking? He just wants to sleep bless him.

We had this when my daughter was little and the doctor said nil by mouth for 24 hours was the only way. She could suck an ice cube but nothing else whatsoever. It worked and it’s how we have dealt with sickness ever since.
