I don’t know anyone irl who has had a breast uplift. I’m currently a 32GG. I could lose a bit of weight but not enough to affect my breasts. I cannot leave the house without a bra. I’ve had spinal surgery and they put great strain on my back. They point south and are not far from my belly button. But, the worst part is in this warm weather, it’s horrid but the sweat that comes from underneath. I feel awful. However, I think what upset me is I confided in my mum and a friend i wanted to have a reduction and uplift, and they just went on about how badly scarred I’d be and that would be worse than the position I’m in now.

If anyone has had one could you tell me the pros and cons please.

I had a reduction and uplift last year as part of breast cancer surgery. I was a 36 GG before went down to a D cup. I would never have considered it if it wasn’t for the cancer, I’ve always been against cosmetic surgery because of the pressure it places on women to spend money and risk their health on their looks. But, like others on this thread, I found the results were fantastic and I wish I’d realised how much more comfortable I would be. They look great too - which I do like, but I still have concerns about the whole culture of looking good - but it’s really about how much easier it is just to move. I no longer have shoulder problems, I feel good moving around in a way I didn’t before, I can go without a bra without being self conscious or having sweat pouring out from underneath. It really has been quite life changing.

Op I still wear a bra and sleep in a “sleeper bra” I have a lower breast plate. This is the natural start of your breasts and for many women it hits about mid bicep. My breast plate while not abnormally low is not high either so I wear a bra 24 hrs a day of some type Of course now I can wear much thinner straps more feminine less heavy duty styles. I could go strapless for a special occasion. Your breast tissue continues to sag as you age irregardless of breast implants or a lift. My surgeon says bras technically don’t prevent sagging because sagging is genetic based on your tissue strength and resilience but bra wearing certainly helps. She also said the deep ridges in my shoulders would not go away becuse of loss of tissue from straps but mine have. Not 100% but pretty close

What you've explained of your experience is a massive part of why I had a radical double mastectomy.

I spent over 20 years begging for a reduction.

My personal circumstances and type of surgery and options and difficult recovery with complications will be different to you and you'd not statistically be likely to experience what I did unless you had Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and a weight problem.

But despite my having extensive extra scarring which we hadn't forseen under my armpit area on the upper ribs, I'm 110% glad I went through the surgery and the shit recovery.

I have spinal disability, I no longer have their massive weight causing further damage. No more abcesses and fungal infections and boils and other skin issues. No more major chest sweating issues affecting my confidence visually or olfactorily. And no more dysphoria because since they arrived in my teens they grew well out of proportion to the rest of my body, causing me issues finding smart clothes which fit, and were comfortable, and god the shit attention I got (mostly men).

I'd find a support group online where people can safely share images and discuss it, so you can see what you could be left with. Don't let other people tell you what is best for you - it's your skin. Your life.
