To wonder why so few people indicate right on a roundabout any more?!!

For the last few years I've travelled a lot in the UK by road. Think 8 or 9 different counties, regular trips.

I am genuinely staggered however by the number of people who just completely fail to indicate right on a roundabout.

I see it daily where I live in the South East.

Two lane roundabouts are the absolute worst. I'm in the left lane, hoping to head over the roundabout and take the second exit at 12 o clock.

I'm waiting because I can see a car coming across the roundabout from the 12 o clock direction, but my way. They have no indicator, and are in the left lane, so you would presume they are going straight across.

Amazing! That means I can come out...

... oh nope. They suddenly barrel around from the left lane and cut across me, no indicator, to turn right.

And then my favourite bit - they then indicate off left as they take their exit!

I see this about half a dozen times a day. People just never indicating when turning right, as if road position is enough.

Why?! Why the hell does this keep happening in the UK?

I'm also in the South East and I've noticed the opposite!

For some reason I always see people indicating right at round abouts when they're going straight across - never understood that one!

I agree. And for that reason I just find I can't trust other drivers so have to wait to make sure. It's really not good.

yep or they look light straight on and turn left before so its like if they were indicating i could of set off

I agree OP, and it makes the roundabouts operate less efficiently because people hesitate due to uncertainty.

Yes, i see this a huge amount too. Has the advice changed?
When I learned to drive I can clearly recall the instructor saying if you want to turn right at a roundabout, you indicate to get into the right hand approach lane, if there is one, keep indicating right as you go into the roundabout, then indicate left after you have gone past the first left turn on the rounabout to signal you will be taking the next left turn.
