Baby boy clothes

Baby is 7 months and I’m finding it so hard to find him nice baby clothes everywhere I go it’s full of dinosaurs trucks etc. i definitely prefer more of a classic style for my baby Peterpan collars, rompers, cardigans and knitted jumpers as examples. The girls sections always have such lovely traditional floral dresses jumpers cardigans but the boys don’t. John Lewis heirloom collection trotters Rachel Riley some of jojo mama are all so lovely but expensive. I get most my clothes on Vinted so I’m able to get what I want. I occasionally find some lovely things in m and s Sainsburys and next but it’s so hard. Has anyone got any brand suggestions that might have more traditional baby clothes. Why are baby boys clothes sections half the size of girls and always so brightly coloured.

Next and m&s for my little boy

It's a pain isn't it. I hate how sexist clothes are and how boys have hardly any selection. All I want is some colour other than black, blue or brown! In saying that girls are probably even worse, pink, unicorns and ruffles.

I used to buy my DS's Sarah Louise romper suits.

Its been like this for years.
Mine are mid 20s now and I had the same issue.
Wait till you start looking for shoes, boys are so so boring!!
We had a second hand shop so I shopped there. Lovely orange corduroy dungarees and the like.

Good luck. Choice for boys doesn’t get much better as they get older I’m afraid.

If you’re going on holiday you might find other countries are less crap about this so you could stock up.

Another brand I used to buy was called Chicaloo. If you look on eBay there are pre owned traditional boys romper suits on there. I used to keep my babies in mostly white for the first 3 or 4 months and I liked the smocked rompers with little Peter Pan collars.

H&M do essentials in all colours. They have brights and muted colours if you’re looking for something cheap. John Lewis also do a wide range of outfits and they have an heirloom range. Frugi and Maxmorra have fun, but bright patterns.

It's difficult.
So much of it is also sludge coloured (why?!?!)
BUT at least the materials are thick and warm... girls stuff is impractical and flimsy.
The sexism in clothes (both ways) is garbage.

I get some bits from zara next and m&s but have to trawl the sites regularly- the struggle is real

La Redoute, Petit Bateau, Vertbaudet and Boden are all worth a look. Nutmeg (at Morrisons) are surprisingly good for gorgeous baby boy clothes (changes as they get older, though). George (at Asda) can also be worth a try (as before, not so good as they get older). Joules, Monsoon and Newbie also have some nice things for boys.

It's tricky... sometimes I think the grass is always greener on the other side! I have three children; my older two are boys and I have/had similar struggles... but on the flip side, now that I have a baby girl I'm finding the clothing on offer is often quite impractical (thin leggings, frills on everything, generally seems less sturdy, etc...) plus don't get me started on slogans... "be kind", "be happy", or all the bright pink/rainbows/glitter/unicorns/etc. Having said that, it's true that there's generally more variety for girls, so I shouldn't really complain.

I get all my baby clothes on vinted.

Try Vinted, and look for Spanish, Italian and Portuguese sets and specific brands - Mintini, Sardon, Laranjinha etc. They tend to be a bit more classic and less in the way of cartoon characters and in your face gendered themes.

ETA: friend in Portugal with two small boys does find UK darker and patterned boys’ clothing useful in terms of nursery and laundry though - more easycare and hides a multitude of stains.
