If you have a walk in larder / pantry would you recommend it & could you share a photo?

Please!
We're considering converting under our stairs into a larder & I'd love to hear if you like yours?

And if you have any tips for organising it?

Dh is a bit on the fence so I need to convince him it's a good plan!

We live in an old house & the stairs is in the kitchen. It currently houses the hoover but that could go out in utility room

Thanks

That looks more like a small shop. Do you really need all that much stuff?
I work on the principle of 1 spare one and when you open that you order another one.
I would love a larder. I remember my grandmother had one in her under stair cupboard in her 2 up, 2 down house. It was not on an outside wall but it was cool.

We're really lucky to have our cupboard.
When we first moved here (it's a remote Scottish village) it was 2017 and during that winter, the snow was so bad (Beast from the East) over the whole country, that the supply chain was badly broken, and the shop ran out of everything.

That was BEFORE I stocked my pantry, needless to say. I think that prepping is very important now, and I keep enough stuff in to make sure we're always going to have food etc in stock, to last ages.

For people who stock pantries do you worry about stuff going out of date before you can use it all?

Or do you have a system to manage it?

We eat things from the back first.

We've got one. Our fridge freezer is in there as you face the door and then we've got floor to ceiling shelves on the left for things like cereal, rice, pasta, tins etc. Pet food on bottom shelf. No window. I think it was used as a general store room prior to us, but we ripped the kitchen out and re-did it so that you could have a table and chairs, which limited the amount of unit space available. We keep essentials like tea/coffee etc. and some store cupboard basics in the kitchen units, but otherwise everything else food-wise is in the pantry.
