Anything interesting really, she is curious about the world and radio 4 is usually good call

One of the best I've listened to - In the Dark - Season 2 - Curtis Flowers. Absolutely superb, in-depth investigative journalism.

It's true crime, but raises so many issues to do with racism, jury selection, corruption and how the Supreme Court works. It's a long time since I listened to it but I can remember being so engrossed in the story and how things panned out.

Don't google it though. Just listen from the start.

Infinite Money Cage - always brilliantly entertaining and amusing.

NetballHoop · 25/04/2025 12:04

Ones my DS has enjoyed include:

The Infinite Monkey Cage - Science with a few laughs
No such thing as a fish - Sort of QI on the radio
13 Minutes to the Moon - Very good walk through of the first moon landing

Wind of Change podcast is great, binged it on a long journey. It is the story of a rumour about the CIA collaborating with the German band Scorpions during the cold war to affect cultural change in the East before the wall came down.

my slightly younger teens and I often listen to 'you're dead to me' in the car on long drives.

On BBC sounds you can also get Desert Island Discs which has some great people
Curious Cases
Tim Harford
In Our Time (but teens say it is dull)

LionWings · 25/04/2025 12:11

Any BBC ones are usually good quality. I really enjoyed The Gift but it could throw up some philosophical discussions

The Battersea Poltergeist.

KnickerlessParsons · 25/04/2025 12:16

The Isdal woman is excellent.

And on Sounds:
when Banksy comes to town
Mark Steel’s in town for a laugh
The Great Post Office Trial

loads of good podcasts on bbc Sounds

BertieBotts · 25/04/2025 12:16

I love Ologies - have a look through and pick some subjects you both like the sound of.

Win-Win with Liv Boeree has some really interesting guests as well.

Lateral by Tom Scott is a fun sort of quiz one but it would probably get a bit boring to listen to too many in a row.

postmanshere · 25/04/2025 12:17

Lime Town is a classic. It’s a story about a town that disappears from what I remember.

METR0NOMY · 25/04/2025 12:20

Thanks all. I’ve downloaded a few of these

Therealmetherealme · 25/04/2025 13:47

Stalked from BBC sounds has been interesting. It’s about a young women who entered the fashion industry and was cyber stalked.

Crowd Science on BBC Sounds has some interesting subjects.

Kill List on Apple Podcasts

Uncanny - Danny Robins ( I've only seen the TV series but apparently the podcasts are better)

JG24 · 25/04/2025 19:37

No such thing as a fish
Or cabin pressure
Both on Spotify and both easy listening

WhoAreYouTalkingTo · 25/04/2025 19:38

Old Timey Podcast or the predecessor Let's go to court are great. Also, Someone knows something

Hottchoc · 25/04/2025 19:39

No such things as a fish and rotten mango are my favorites

MindlessDaydream · 25/04/2025 19:40

Criminal and This is Love have some amazing episodes

maddening · 25/04/2025 19:42

Mr Ballen

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 25/04/2025 19:44

If you have Spotify.
Off the Menu with James Acaster
Sherlock & Co - beautifully produced comedy dramas.
Rob Brydon interviews
If they like politics, The Rest is Politics.

MounjaroMounjaro · 25/04/2025 19:51

Off Menu is good - listen to the Claudia Winkleman episode - it's so funny.

Single Ladies in Your Area - very funny - two female comedians - Amy Gledhill and Harriet Kemsley - talking about the trials and tribulations of dating.

LittleBigHead · 25/04/2025 19:52

If you want some tales from the rabbit holes of the internet, Blocked and Reported is fun. They look at all the crazies on the internet with the instincts of journalists.

I've recently been bingng on a couple of fictional conspiracy dramas, Tanis, and Rabbits. Whimsy & silly but really well done. Similar to the Lovecraft Investigations

LittleBigHead · 25/04/2025 19:53

oooh Kill List. And also The Cold Tqpes. Really interesting fictional crime investigation, set in Antarctica.

Americast is a really good political podcast
