ADHD? Something or nothing?

Does this seem like ADHD to you?

DD is 16.
In primary school (pre-phone), high achiever, great concentration span. Hums or sings wherever she's on her own.

Secondary school, incredibly glued to phone. Achieving less well academically and seemingly less interested. Lives chaotically - room is disgusting and seems overwhelmed by even minor asks and appears less capable than she is. Continues to hum and sing wherever she's on her own, including while revising.

Sixth form, still glued to phone. Still chaotic and revision is all over the place. We know where she is in the house by the sound of her singing. Sings loudly while revising.

I confiscate her phone, as she just can't self-regulate it and ends up spending hours doom scrolling, and her mood seems to dip the more she's online.

My dad used to hum and I have to too, when I concentrate. I sometimes realise that I have to stop, so that colleagues don't notice. If I'm not humming aloud I'm grinding my teeth in time to music in my head.

Do you think any of this sounds like ADHD? Is it even hereditary?

imho humming and being a disorganized teen is not always a sign of neurodiversity on it's own.

there are multiple types of add (attention deficit disorder) of which adhd is one, the h stands for hyperactivity...in my experience (3 children 1 grandchild) there was zero doubt that they were physically hyperactive, the type of super sporty absolute need and drive to do something physical daily sometimes twice daily (practice and games) and if this need was not met with sports they were twirling and bouncing in the house and literally climbing the walls pretty hard to miss this.
0600 swimming ideal for this type after an early morning release of energy than home and school work entirely possible. on non sport days my children and our grandson need running at the local track and field course a stop watch helps.
there are other versions of non physically hyper neurodiversity.

Nope. Not that complicated.

It's the screen time

Thanks for your replies. I think it's the screen time. Unfortunately her dad never supports me when I confiscate the phone (which I regularly do). Her school encourage screen just too, which is a pain.

it doesn't sound like her secondary school is a great fit for her.
