Today's installment...

  1. We have a downstairs bathroom. "Only poor people have them" apparently. Don't worry she was VERY quickly put in her place about that one.
  1. Our crockery doesn't match which is "like, really embarrassing". It definitely seemed embarrassing to her when she randomly turned up with friends all wanting food twice over Easter.
  1. I won't let her do her own washing. We don't have a tumble dryer so it's a balance keeping on top of the washing and avoiding having wet clothing everywhere. She won't follow this system so it'll cause me extra hassle.
  1. I frowned in her general direction.
  1. The cat sneezed on her friend last week. Apparently I should know when the cat is about to sneeze or be able to stop her. She was so upset about it that she only remembered to tell me about it today.

Stay tuned for the next exciting episode in 10hrs.

When I dropped dd (16) off at the train station this morning, I asked if she wanted me to get her anything from the supermarket for after college. When she came home, she moaned there was NOTHING to eat in this house. (The packs of noodles, dumplings and halloumi fries she chose in Costco last week apparently ‘taste funny’ and that’s also my fault.)

Honestly, OP, YABU for not a) having trained your cat to catch its sneeze in a tissue or, at worst, the crook of its leg, and b) not coming on here to tell all us cat owners how the F to train a cat to do anything 😂

Timeforabiscuit · 22/04/2025 21:09

The wind blew in her face the wrong way... and it's obviously my fault.

I’ve just been told that the rubbish I asked DS to pick up and put in the bin “enhances the floor”. It’ll enhance his head if he carries on.

I have a 15 yr old DD and she is wonderful BUT still 15

  1. She bought me and DP a cake the other day to celebrate a little business win we had and we were so touched she thought about us like this, we kept saying how lovely it was. To the point she said ‘ok you have both kinda ruined it being so touched’ 🙄🤣
  2. I spent too long looking at her guinea pig after she called me to look at the guinea pig (apparently I was being weird about it now) 🤣
  3. said she had barely seen me all day (I was WFH and she didn’t get up until 1pm, so I took my work upstairs to work in her room just to chat while I was typing - apparently ‘you do know you can go now?’ Within 15 mins 🤣

Mine hates me this morning because his hair is too long and won’t do what he wants and it’s my fault because I said we were going to the barbers at the weekend and he told me he wants to wait until next week

I got ‘I didn’t ask to be born’ for the first time last week. She asked last year for a specific holiday and I took her.
My mate reminds me that they don’t have a big chunk of their brain fully developed at this age, I chant this silently in my mind!

I said they could invite some friends to a barbecue, so far so good, but then I asked how many people were coming and if they ate everything (eg veggies, allergies) and what would they like to drink. Apparently I have to know absolutely everything and why wasn’t he allowed privacy! Dh offered him pillowcases so he could smuggle them in without us seeing.
