I'm so exhausted and sad about working full time

Just want to have a moan.

I'm dreading going back to work tomorrow after this 4 day weekend.

I've got two young kids and I've always worked full time. Went back to work full time when they were 9 months old.

I'm fed up. I miss my kids so much. I'm away from them so much. I'm exhausted from working full time and parenting. But can't afford to reduce my hours.

I worked 40hrs over 5 days for a few years and it was exhausting, out the door at 7.30am and not back until 6.30pm.

fast forward a few years and I’m doing the same job but wih another company for much better wages and I’ve reduced my hours to 30hrs a week, it’s still over 5 days but I’m out the house for less time. Much more beneficial for my family and my wellbeing.

it’s all about finding the correct employer that benefits you.

Have you looked through your finances to see if it's possible for you to be a sahm/reducing your hours?
I'm a sahm and we made that decision since DH is away a couple of days every week irregularly and it just wouldn't be possible for me to keep down a job with regular hours and I don't have any qualifications that would he suitable to wfh. Having said this we live quite frugally ; rarely go to restaurants/ buy clothes second hand/cook from scratch to reduce costs not only because it's healthy/ only one car- I take the bus/walk. If I would work we'd have more money ofcourse but I prefer staying with my children because they still need me in the morning and when they come home from school (one autistic 15 and one highly sensitive 11). It's just a matter of time though, atleast for the younger one. I doubt the older one will ever be independant..
