To ask them to be quiet?

My next door neighbours have people round, they are in the garden and it's really noisy. Shouting etc. I understand most people have tomorrow off but I'm up early to go and work in the hospital. Its a long shift so I really need to sleep. Is it reasonable and if so what time is an acceptable time to ask them to be quiet? My bedroom is at the back of the house so I'm right above the noise, there's no other room I can move to.

Hmm that’s a tough one, I probably wouldn’t say anything till about 11, I think 9pm on a bank holiday weekend is too early to complain unless it’s an ongoing problem

I would ask and explain the reason. Totally reasonable.

You might want a hard hat for this thread though, usually people are all for the noisy garden parties.

We have inconsiderate fuckers like this who commit the sin of burning wood on their fucking wood burner too. Their laughter and voices go through us. They have no consideration at all. Fuckers. They’ve been out there for hours and I wish it would rain.
Earplugs needed OP. If past 11 I think it’s fair to ask them to STFU.

They've gone in and I can now sleep. Yay
Thanks for earplug recommendations, can't use them as won't hear alarm unfortunately!
