Anyone with a good eye to style here haha, we are getting married in 4 months, and my husband to be has picked his suit… linen khaki.

we are getting married in south of Spain, the venue is very casual, but I’ve still got a ‘traditional’ sort of brides dress.

we really like the look of the trainers, but we both agree it’s more style than what we would like on the wedding day really and would prefer to be smarter, but if nothing else looks good that’s the choice we have..

issue is, we can’t find a good enough colour loafer.. we want summery vibes, but the khaki loafer, is not close enough to the suit so it looks ‘off’ but brown loafers didn’t look good either.

any ideas?

Smart lace up shoes all the way for a wedding

Not the bright white trainer - it looks off and slightly clownish (especially with the tapered legs of the suit) What about a more vintage style of sneaker in a light cream or beige colour way, maybe with a gum sole?

Casual, South of Spain, khaki linen suit, sounds fab. Hmm. Boat shoes or loafers I would go for, dark brown sort of colour. Just keep trawling online until you find the colour that works? If trainer type shoe, again a dark brown. Those white trainers are too white, lol. The other shoes work better if you don’t want to buy others.

I agree with a loafer type shoe. My parents lived in a very Spanish bit of rural Spain for years Spanish men love a barefoot slip-on shoe. Trying to match would be difficult so maybe just a brown/tan?

Definitely not the trainers. I'm not opposed to trainers at a wedding, but those don't look good. Too white and far too chunky.
I agree that the loafer is not right either. It's very 'Granny's Skechers for holiday'.
I would look at tan loafers or like another poster has mentioned, a boat shoe.

I'd look at something like this personally. Tie in the belt.

I reckon you need leather shoes either lace up or loafers. The suit looks classic and timeless but sneakers will date the look and your wedding photos will wind up looking very current year
