Women are getting blamed for the Supreme Court ruling.
Never mind all the men who took advantage of the loop hole and used it. Women's prisons, sports etc. It was because of their actions that women were forced to make a stand and fight again. But we're the bad guys. Why is nobody calling them out?

Hufflemuff · 16/04/2025 23:49

Because the people calling these women out, are the ones who support this no matter what. To them, the issue around inequality in sports, or safety in prisons and changing rooms etc... is a small price (for women) to pay for allowing everyone their freedom.

Except they don't understand that by giving privilege to one group, they are taking away privileges from another...

vipersnest1 · 16/04/2025 23:59

I don't think women are. I believe it’s the backlash of groups who have been put on the wrong side of the law because of their beliefs. There is no need to call them out - they have no ground to stand on now and will either wither away or persist in making themselves look like fools.

OtterInABlueTie · 17/04/2025 00:15

They like playing victim.

Whatifitallgoesright · 17/04/2025 00:44

It's made it harder for the bully to get near his victim. Makes them annoyed. Shame.

notthatoldchestnut · 17/04/2025 00:45

Ask the average person in the street if they know what a woman is. The vast majority will easily be able to tell you and will agree with this decision. There will be a small minority who will not. A bit like the small minority who were shouting to be in our spaces in the first place.

What is interesting is what happens now. There has been a huge campaign about women’s rights and protection and support for women, focusing on trans people. Will the passion, commitment and drive to support women against the risks that “biological” men pose continue? As “biological” men pose a much larger threat to women everyday than “trans” people.

Trans women are biological men.

Trans women have the same offending pattern with regards to violence and sexual offending because they are men.

In fact, so called trans women (men who cross dress/have AGP) have a much much higher rate of sexual offending than other men.

My point is about ALL men. The focus to date has been on trans people. Personally, I’d like to see the campaign shift to address the issues women have with all men.

This is incorrect.

Where is your evidence for this?

Rosie8880 · 17/04/2025 13:56

There aren’t that many “trans” people fullstop. In 2021 census 221k people identified and shared their gender identity was differ to their birth - and this included trans women and men. The trans community is very very small compared to non trans community. There are millions of adult aged men. Considering the challenges men pose to women overall - rape, abuse, physical attacks, misogyny - interested in how the campaign will broaden to support the safety of women from men overall.

Bavariamaria · 17/04/2025 17:51

HMPS data and the January 2023 release of the ONS data. Not hard to find.

MounjaroOnMyMind · 17/04/2025 18:10

Yes, I'm pissed off about that too, and the number of times I've heard men banging on about we have to make sure transwomen are safe. WE as in women. No, fuck off, if they're not safe it's because of male behaviour, not female.

This is the nub of the argument. It's actually a non argument, as apart from some teenagers being trans for effect/confusion over their sexuality, there are very very few trans people. In my lifetime I have met 2.

However, certain groups like stonewall, like a cause. They have jumped on the bandwagon and publicised it. The Scottish government used it to try to force a split from the uk. Perverts and rapists have used it to try to access women's spaces. Piss poor sports MEN have used it to win in an unfair way.

The two groups I feel sorry for are women who have been abused as a result and/or made to feel uncomfortable in spaces where they should be safe and actual trans people.

I agree. I often wonder if some transgendered people feel that some of their allies don't help in a way.

MrsKeats · 17/04/2025 18:40

Quite. Added to the list of my annoyances is the whining of those who have think male bodies should be in women’s sports. Makes me so angry.
