Would you say 34 is too young for Botox?

My crows' feet are quite deep when I smile and are even there faintly as static lines, does 34 seem a good age to start going down this route?
I know once I have it I could risk getting hooked and then the upkeep will be expensive..
I don't drink, never smoked, use spf 50 every day, don't sunbathe, usually sleep at least 7 hours and moisturise daily but nothing has prevented these lines.
I don't believe any cream or lotion out there would significantly reduce these lines either, but correct me if I'm wrong!

Yes.
I am 66, I started with botox at 50. You also need to find a really good practitioner, only a doctor.

corkface · 10/04/2025 20:16

It depends on your skin I guess. I'm 47 and don't need botox yet but my skin is very thick and oily and doesn't seem to wrinkle at all. My friend with fine dry skin started botox in her 30's.

Sorry i should've made the voting clearer. I'm getting a lot of yabu- is that yes it's too young, or no it's not?

No it’s not too young, many people start younger. Leaving it longer will just mean the lines worsen.

I think this will get a different response in AIBU than style and beauty.

For me 100 is too young for botox so I think YABU

"Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth."

I started at 32. If they bother you and you can rid of them why not?!

Hlglu56 · 10/04/2025 20:48

I know quite a few people under 35 who are having Botox. I think it’s better to start before the lines get too deep.

RachelGreep87 · 10/04/2025 20:53

Prevention is better than cure

Skthigh · 10/04/2025 20:54

i started at 41, wish I’d started years before, my 11’s still haven’t totally gone after 3 years of Botox, forehead lines have and crows feet are very minimal but the 11’s still annoy me lol.

PeloMom · 10/04/2025 20:56

Not too young at all (of course skin dependent). Just make sure you do your research on the injector and not just pop in anywhere.

Init4thecatz · 10/04/2025 20:58

Age gracefully. Build confidence.

MasterBeth · 10/04/2025 21:00

Google Joan Rivers.

BottomlessBrunch · 10/04/2025 21:04

Definitely need to do it before lines get deeper it’s about prevention. It’s not so much an age it’s all about your face.

You find that people with a slim face/no fat on it often develop frown/smile lines first whereas a fuller face will naturally hold off lines for longer.

Google Joan Rivers.

Do you really think Botox alone will make someone look like Joan Rivers?

researchers3 · 10/04/2025 21:09

I'd start later. Save yourself some money.

The more you have it the more likely your face is to look at bit mask like at some point.

Obvs it depends on the person but generally 40ish is a good time to start I think.

parietal · 10/04/2025 21:54

It is much too young. But I think 80 is too young for Botox. Why would you want to mess up your natural face?

Winifredtabago · 10/04/2025 22:04

Are crows feet not created when you smile? Out of any lines on the face these seem the better ones to have. If you had frown lines or forehead lines or mouth lines then ok but why not keep the I'm always smiling lines 😊

It’s not too young ….
My eldest girls bosses brother is a doctor , if you can follow that 😂 , and he thinks Botox should be started in 30s , just little amount, that you shouldn’t wait for the wrinkles to appear & that way it works best ..
I have those awful frown lines , that I use to get done , but I stopped as I got horrendous eye bags from it , I researched after ( when it was too late ) that is some people Botox in forehead can cause eye bags , as it freezes the muscles that pump water around the eye so the water gathers then in pockets under the eye , I looked awful ! The frown lines didn’t bother me at all then , the bags were so bad ..
I had to wait for the Botox to wear off ..
The frown lines though were a lesser of 2 evils ! !

This is absolute rubbish! By age 50 you will have lines that are so ingrained that they will only be removed by surgery. Id say mid to late 30’s is perfect timing obviously depending on your skin. Also Botox does not need to be done by a Dr ( medics and non medics do the same aesthetics courses) it needs to be done by someone who is good at what they do ( and can provide you with evidence and client references) and that you feel comfortable with.

Tangelablue · 10/04/2025 22:16

I started getting it for my crows feet when I was 30. A registered nurse does mine, it's quick and convenient

ArtTheClownIsNotAMime · 10/04/2025 22:27

There's no good age to look like an uncanny valley waxwork doll. Age appropriate lines are much more attractive.

PalmTreeAngel · 10/04/2025 22:33

Not too young. I’m 34 and I get it twice a year. Preventative.
