To consider a late return flight with a baby?

Departing at 10pm, baby will be nearly 6 months. We’d have access to hotel room and hotel facilities all day. Would it be crazy and unfair on the other passengers? She usually goes to bed around 7:30pm and wakes once or twice in the night for a feed and then back down to sleep quickly but that’s in her bed at home... I know this might go out the window on holiday. Thoughts? An earlier flight is another £500, other dates add hundreds of pounds onto the holiday, so the alternative is we don’t go.

What is your concern @jampig - do you think your baby will scream in this situation?

How long is the flight? X

cardboardvillage · 08/04/2025 11:54

Yes. With a 6m old i would. Older kids no

Do what you need to do
baby will likely sleep and you can feed them on take off and landing

I’d be worried she would yeah. I am BF though so usually that can solve anything she’s upset about but I would worry she’d be thrown out of routine, not sleep at all and be really overtired/unsettled when other passengers are trying to sleep. I have no experience of flying with a baby as she is our first

Baby will be in pram at airport until boarding

Feed onboard at 9:30/10pm ish once seated. They will sleep on you during flight

3 hours

Oh in that case I would absolutely go for it! Save the money and travel at night.

Worst case scenario baby cries for 3 hours - it's not the end of the world 🤷‍♀️

Feed on takeoff and landing and I'm sure baby will sleep on you for the flight.

Have a great time!
