Especially if your children are young (reception / KS1 age.)

I am kind of looking forward to mine starting reception but dreading the long holidays as well.

the first few hours of half term and this morning I muttered to myself ‘children should be in school 364 days a year, Christmas Day is the only exception’ 🤣🤣🤣 so yeah that sums it up… this is lighthearted before anyone comes for me! Hahaha

Hard from a childcare point of view. Me or dh can't work from home. My ds is now in year 7 so some of the pressure is off but they can feel long especially the 6 weeks in the summer

I usually love them as we get a few days as a family and make an effort to do family things - we both work FT. 6 weeks is a long time for childcare costs, but the reduced pressure on the kids is needed.

This Easter DH has the whole time off but I couldn’t get any time off for the first time in my kids lives which was initially very sad. However, waking up and only having me to sort out is a dream, and I am going to make sure I have some days like this in all the holidays now!

I wake up, have a tea, get ready and swan off to work without a care in the world and leave everyone at home sleeping. It’s bliss!
