Looking for a thread for school holiday tips and inspiration! Ideally things on a budget that can be enjoyed by dc ranging from 3-12 (this is the biggest challenge).

Thankfully the weather looks good so we’ll be doing dog walks, park, a trip to the library, swimming, maybe the odd picnic. We will get the bus to a city about an hour away for a day out. But other than that I’m really struggling with ideas and it’s particularly hard at home because they all seem to gravitate towards screens.

Would love to know what everyone else is up to.

My top tip is an Easter egg hunt around the house. This can easily keep my kids for half an hour or up to half a day if I don't actually hide any eggs.

Yes might do an Easter hunt in the garden too providing the weather is still nice by Easter weekend.

My grandsons endlessly water my plants. I fill up the watering can, they empty it. They made a den in the garden today and had lunch in it. Indoor tent went up in my bedroom

We are gardening, going in the pool, home done egg hunt, maybe some archery. Whatever the mood takes and it will all have to be either at home or walking distance as dh is working.

We are going to see the Minecraft movie one evening but that’s the only thing set in stone.

It can be a struggle to fill the days. What age are yours?

I have a toddler and a pre-teen. They're bored already but we have a rough plan now. Today has been playing, housework, water play in garden (just a mat and a hosepipe with tubs to fill and old bath toys as sprinklers, bubble machine etc).
Tomorrow pretty much the same plus a home learning project. Getting summer clothes out of attic to sort out.
Next day a trip to town for broken glasses appointment and buy new clothes (they've likely outgrown last years). Lunch out in a coffee shop.
Next day swimming for an hour then playing at home.
A local farm with adventure playgrounds, chicks, lambs, take own picnic to save cost.
Church on Sunday, catching up with friends after for coffee.
Second week we have 2 days to pack and prep for trip to see my family, booked a cheap air B&B for 3 nights as it's a long drive.
Hopefully they'll be nice and tired after that so we can have last days of holiday preparing for new term!

Right now they're watching hamsters go through mazes on YouTube!!

Lol, screw the hunt... you're actually putting an activity between me and my beloved chocolate!

On the days me or DH have taken leave we’ve got some trips out with dds friends planned, picnic, then trip to stay with family for Easter weekend. We’ve also got a couple of days holiday clubs booked. The rest of the time I’ll be working from home so will just keep the doors to the garden open and dd will play in the garden and the house, probably have a couple of film afternoons.
