I verbally agreed to a 60d notice period whilst contracting for an old contact of mine, one day a week doing bookkeeping. I hate the work so much and there’s a lot of reasons I want to leave. I felt 60days was excessive after asking my employer what their contractors are on (one weeks notice), so have given 30 days, I really want to take on the extra day with my employer and I’ve never signed anything with this self employment so I thought 30d was fair. I’ve had a really sh*tty response from the person I am contracting for (who is also contracting, for the company I do the bookkeeping for). It’s really upset me and I feel a lot of bitterness and now just feel really worried about the next month and how crappy it’s going to be working with him. WWYD? I actually thought giving a month was more than fair considering I’ve not signed anything contract and it’s a one day a week position. I’m left feeling like I’m dreading the next month and just feel like sacking the whole thing in all together due to his attitude towards me. But I know it won’t look good on me professionally. ðŸ˜
