Gousto or Hello Fresh for young teens cooking

Hello I tried Hello Fresh last year and it was a success. Got young teens cooking. But we got fed up of the recipes.

I’ve heard Gousto is better. Is it a similar set up to Hello Fresh? So teens can do dinner for the working adults as it all comes in packets with the recipe?

thanks

I’ve not used either but I have used for my teens the “simply cook” range, you can buy it online but I just get it in Asda, they only provide the seasonings and instructions and you need to get the fresh ingredients but they are mostly quick, easy and tasty meals.

Thanks Rose Dog. Anyone else?

Gousto is similar but IMO the recipe cards are slightly easier to use than HF. I'm not sure why as the recipes look similar but perhaps I just liked the style more.

There are some good offers like 50% off your first box if you wanted to try it.

We also like Pasta Evangelists but that feels more like a ready meal - good quality pasta n sauce,, but pasta n sauce all the same.

Here's a Gousto unboxing video if you want to check - it's basically the same concept, little packets of everything from soy sauce to single lemons. V

I preferred Gousto because you got recipes you could make again without buying the meal box. Hello Fresh was very much "our special Sri Lanka spice blend". Otherwise they are very similar. Gousto recipes are more reliably tasty in my opinion and although I can't afford them now a lot of our staple meals originally came from Gousto.

I've used both but Gousto seems slightly better value for money.

Love Gousto and both my boys use it to make delicious family meals 😄

I find the Gousto boxes better in terms of fresh ingredients and recipes, but in general I’d say the recipes are a bit more complicated.

IME Hello Fresh tends to have simpler ingredients and recipes, and is more stingy on the veg.

Although I do like that the HF recipes come pre bagged all together, with the Gousto you have to rummage through the box and pick out everything you need (not a big deal of course but slightly less convenient).

Thanks everyone! Just what I wanted to hear! Thanks for the video @distinctpossibility!

and @Wheech that was why I stopped HF. I got bored do the same recipes as we chose stuff we liked but then got repetitive but then a few months down the line couldn’t recreate it as they had HF seasoning.

thank you all!

Yes I love simply cook! Sainsbury's also do box's from simply cook that contains the fresh ingredients too
