As far as I’m aware you need to apply for LCWRA separately. My husband had to and he had to fill out a pip style form for it. I could be wrong but that’s what he had to do

If your ESA is still in payment on the day you claim then you shouldn't need to be reassessed

Rather than stopping your ESA claim, you can just claim UC in addition, so you'll still get your ESA money plus extra from UC. Once you've started your claim tell them in your journal that you get lcfwra and they should take away the work coach meeting and other tasks they have given you.

If you claim UC and you still have a current ESA claim then they can use this decision on UC to give you LCWRA. If you move over before migration you won’t be entitled to any transitional protection.
CAB do help to claim and can help you if you need support or have questions.

If your on legacy benefits
you can move over to UC and your ESA will follow
if you get the higher rate / support group in ESA you will also get this as transitional protection

if you don’t get it in your first payment just message them and tell them you should be getting the transitional protection - support group element

if you head over to Reddit the benefits forum is really good and you have some good advisors there that work on UC / benefits

Check that you’ll be eligible for transitional protection if you move before a migration letter…
