Please can I have your recurring miscarriage success stories please? After going through my 12th now I am in absolute pieces and just never want to leave my bed. Can you please tell me what helped you get your miracle baby?

I just need hope.

I’m a midwife working in early pregnancy, I am so sorry for your losses. I would absolutely recommend contacting Tommy’s - several of my clients have welcomed rainbow babies after numerous losses with their input and guidance. Be kind to yourself x

Agree with @LittleDoveLove egg quality is key and so her recommendation of "it starts with an egg" by Rebecca Fett.

My background prior to having 2 successful pregnancies: loss at 5 months, ectopic (ruptured), miscarriage. Following the ectopic I was advised I needed to do ivf.

My last miscarriage was an ivf pregnancy using a "top grade" embryo. After that miscarriage we opted to test the viability of embryos going forward.

I was devastate to find that my stash of embryos (12) we're all abnormal and would have resulted in miscarriages, or the birth of babies that wouldn't have survived long.

I cannot say for certain that the book made a difference, but having followed the recommendations my egg quality definitely improved (went from 100% abnormal to 50%) despite me obviously getting older.

Progesterone, reflexology, acupuncture are all helpful (the latter for relaxation if nothing else) but will not improve egg quality.

Really wish you the best of luck. Infertility is awful.

  • after the initial 12 embryos I did 2 further rounds of egg collections and testing and the results gradually improved. Initially I had 25% normal, then final round 50% normal.

OP I am so sorry to hear you've gone through this 12 times. My wife has had 2 miscarriages, one at 6 weeks and one at 12, which was bad enough so I can't imagine how you must feel having gone through it 12 times. She's beginning some follow up investigations after the last one, which was horrendous (major haemorrhaging, and hypothermic shock) as she wouldn't be here now if I hadn't got her into A&E. I have also had my sperm tested and all good on that front. We have stopped for now in terms of TTC as can't bear to go through the stress of this again and may look to adopt in future.

I had a missed miscarriage then a live birth, then 3 more consecutive misscarriages, all at 6 weeks, then a little boy, who is now 16! I was 36 when I had him and He was my last chance I don't think I could have gone through it again especially at that age xx
