It wouldn't be so bad if there was an end in sight, or at least a plateau for a couple/few years but we just see it continuing.
Councils are going to continue to raise council tax by the highest they can, because the costs of human care is exponentially rising. And we import most of our essentials, particularly food and with the change in climate (hottest first day ever of May for instance) makes food supplies much more uncertain, so farmers will need to get the highest prices for the produce they have.
But what to do? We have a society that, for complex reasons, finds it more difficult to look after family members without state help and no one wants to sacrifice anything, or most certainly not enough, and this is worldwide not just local, to help the planet adapt to continuing increasing carbon emissions.
This is the result.
There is definitely a shift towards more people having less disposable income.
No one wants to invest in renewable energy now so that we have a more stable energy supply in 20 years. So we will put expensive sticking plasters over everything until our kids have to pay for what is needed in one go, yay go us!
On the plus side we do live in a temperate climate, the population of the UK will be able to not fry or freeze as quickly as some.
