Maxie Allen and Rosalind Levine arrested - The vindictiveness of the school and police overreach

AIBU to worry that this type of incident seems to be happening more and more? To me, there are several concerning aspects to this story. Here is a link if you aren't yet aware.

www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/mar/29/parents-arrested-by-hertfordshire-police-for-complaining-about-daughters-school

Firstly, the apparent opaqueness of a public organisation and attempts to shut down private conversation and the vindictiveness the school has shown in attempting to silence this couple.

Secondly, the treatment of the pupil whereby she is being dropped off an escorted into school, and inability to discuss he disability and SEN with teachers, leading to multiple emails that were ultimately used against the couple.

And thirdly, WTF are the police doing? 6 Officers to arrest a meek professional couple, in front of their daughter. Holding them in a cell for 11 hours? Why are the police not dismissing this out of hand? I have always tried to be a supporter of the police, but how can reasonable people continue to accept this when they wont attend a burglary or detain shoplifters, but turn up in force for a middle class couple who called a governor a control freak in a private conversation?

This thread seems to have lost the crux of the matter which is:
Parents and children have been bullied and badly treated. Parents wrongfully arrested and attempts made to silence them.

This is appalling to be happening in this country in this day and age.

People are stupid and naive, we should all be standing together against this oppression yet people would rather argue about who said what???

Unbelievable......

You're 100% right. I apologise for getting drawn into it. I think for some of us who have had poor experiences from schools and then not believed because professionals are always seen as right, it can be quite difficult on these kinds of threads.

Whippy is screenshotting her replies and posting them when they get deleted despite saying earlier "Posts get deleted when they breach the rules on here and someone complains that they breach the rules. Disagreeing with me is not breaching the rules." Irony at it's finest.

Mine do not breach the rules. Someone clearly has a beef with being called out as using mental health as a slur then crying that they 'simply did nothing wrong' pretending to have done nothing all the while using an tactic well known by a certain group of people in the world.

Professionals are not always seen as being right. In teaching, the teachers are usually seen as being wrong. Hence why they are public enemy number 1 in the UK. All they have to do is tell a family something as simple as the word no and we have a double page spread in the daily fail!

…which is not what happened in this case.

Your position means schools are never wrong and should therefore never be challenged. That’s just irresponsible.

Wrong I think schools can be wrong and can be right. I've said that countless times. By all means challenge them. So you are incorrect! Why are you lying and pretending I said that? At no point have I said that. In fact I have said that schools can be wrong and are wrong sometimes.

That will likely stick in your throat that I called you a liar and believe schools can be wrong!

Now please explain why you fabricate things?

Also in this case we do not know as the parents are withholding evidence after admitting to being abusive to staff. And given they are not reporting them for false accusation one would assume there is a reason for that.

Because the edit button is available. For the same reason as those who disagree with me edit too. Because they can.

I do not know nor do you as no one has said either way. The fact that they gloated about doing something to the teacher suggests there is evidence it happened.

I was raped and it was NFA'd by the CPS. The rape still happened despite on paper the police have said NFA. It could've happened and be NFA'd.

If they feel it was a false allegation then they legally can report that. They haven't. They have contacted the police and complained about how it was handled but not reported the teacher for false allegation just spent the time contacting the media instead of seeking justice.

Surely they have evidence to show the police it was a false allegation so could easily get an arrest but are choosing not to for what reason?

Making a false allegation is not - necessarily - a criminal offence, and is usually not something for which a person may lawfully be arrested.

Defamation is not a crime, in this country, any more.

That and the fact that not everyone wants to contact the police over every little thing.

Perverting the course of justice is a crime which many are arrested and convicted of and also serve jail time for. Surely these parents would love another double page Daily Fail spread getting the teachers arrested?

Now one would wonder why this family have not reported it? I mean they are doing anything they can do so why not this? Hmmm?

But yet contacting the media over every little thing is ok for this family though?

Being arrested by six officers is hardly a "little thing".

So why did your mate call it a little thing then?!

I literally didn't. I suggested calling the police over "defamation", "false allegations" (your words) or "malicious communications" which are not, in fact, malicious like the school did would be little things.

Seriously, how can you have got that so wrong?

You did, I suggested going to the police for what the school did and you said not everyone wants to go over little things.

False allegations are not little things. They are a crime. So why not report them? Given this family have said this has caused them so much upset then surely they should be doing to get justice.

One has to ask why they are not?

Ok, I'm out. This is like trying to nail slime to a wall.

Yes...

  1. you said the parents should go to the police.
  2. I said not everyone wants to go to police for little things (e.g. non crimes such as "defamation")
  3. You then said but they went to the media for little things.
  4. Another poster, correctly, pointed out going to the media for being arrested by 6 police officers is not little things.

Report them to the police for what crime they believe to have committed.

  1. Yes I said they should and detailed what they could report.
  2. You said not everyone wants to go for little things.
  3. I related mine to your words.
  4. I related my words to that being not a little thing.
  5. All my words related to the parents opinon of the teachers committing a crime. All your words and your mates relate to what the teachers did as being a little thing as that is what I was on about!

So is being falsely accused and arrested a little thing? So why did you say that the parents not going to the police for little things then? False accusation is a crime.

whippy1981 · 12/04/2025 21:49

Lolapusht · 12/04/2025 21:46

And then what would happen?

They could produce the evidence they have and get them arrested. Simple.

SomethingInnocuousForNow · 12/04/2025 21:52

I can't decide if that poster is serious or not, but every time someone engages it starts the cycle of drivel again. It's not even related to the OP anymore.
