To think friend is over-reacting?

A friend of mine is planning to complain to the council/housing association(sp) about her neighbour having friend stay over.

The story is that her neighbour has just had a little boy, I think he is about 9 days old now(and gorgeous). She asked a friend to stay the night when she went into labour to look after her DD as she and her DH were going to hospital. They have no family nearby.

Anyway my friend says all people that sleep in the house should be known by the council even if it is for one night so she is complaining.

I told her I thought she was being a bit silly and she is in a mood with me now.

BouncingTurtle, I am trying to make friends with her neighbour. I see her when I take DS to the mother and baby group and as they are fairly new round here they don't know many people.

I don't think this pregnancy clashes with anything really. Except she plans pub crawls for xmas so I wont be able to do that.

jesus h christ, the woman is a low-functioning sociopath
i'd be half-tempted to call the council and warn them about this impending complaint, and find out what the consequences will be for the family (i doubt there'll be any, but they don't need a letter/visit of the "just following procedure 'cos there's been a complaint" type)
befriend the neighbour, as well

That is such a mean thing to do

Just check our local council website and they say that you don't need to inform them of visitors / people staying unless they will be there for longer than 4 weeks!

Thanks Oops, I will tell her that. Should hopefully stop her doing anything.

Blimey she sounds like a complete bitch and I'm surprised you even give her the time of day!

I suspect the council will just laugh at her tbh. Like they don't have better things to do...jeezus. It's a friend staying over FFS.

Steer well clear.
