To think the world is a bloody awful place?

I've heard a few stories about animals getting abused recently, how animals in some countries are treated so awfully and I can't stop thinking about it. The same with people. People abusing other people. The world is a horrible place and a lot of people are just desperately horrible.

we're only so much more aware of all the misery as the information is so freely available. there has always been misery - we just weren't exposed to it 24/7

There are certainly alot more miserable threads on mumsnet!
