What can I do?

First post, apologies if I get etiquette wrong.

I have the opportunity to progress, more in a personal development type of way than a career type of way. Purely for context - I have autism and ADHD, late diagnosed in late 20s, im currently in my early 30s, work professionally in my comfort zone but this opportunity would help me gain transferable skills.

I feel like I have all the creativity and ideas needed to progress but lack the necessary 'admin' skills needed to do things professionally.

Due to being late diagnosed, I think I'm struggling between -

YABU - You can learn these skills and don't need to rely on others, it'll be hard work but it needs to be done

YANBU - You know your talent, don't stress yourself trying to do what others can aswell, it's ok to work as a team and ask others for help and just concentrate on what you can do

Appreciate all advice thank you!

So does this mean a change of employment? Have you gone through a pros and cons list, as a starting point?

Hi,

No it wouldn't have any major impact on my current job, although the skills I will gain along the way could be useful in future employment due to it being along the admin/logistics side of things.

I dont want to be too outing but a good example would be - starting a breakfast club/over 50s group/community based type thing.

I'd say go for it. My DD, who is autistic challenged herself because she wanted to Improve her communication and add to her CV. She also forced herself to eat more foods, so she could socialise more. It's expanding yourself, rather than changing or denying your NDs.

Thank you for replying, I'm so glad to hear about your DD. I suppose it's the age old battle of balance, which we all struggle with!

I am more inclined to go for it:)
