To be a bit miffed...

I been on a child behaviour course this week, which I'm very pleased about as I've waited over a year to go on it.

The course is held in another town, in the same county, so I needed to drive there. Fine, as we have a car, but not fine in that DH can't use it for work on the afternoons I'm on the course. So armed ith a borrowed sat nav, I take the afternoon off work, and successfully drive to the location.

Then I discover the majority of the other people on the course have come form the same town as me, but have been provided with a taxi each. Obviously I don't know their circumstances (but I'm presuming they are on benefits) I did get a little miffed when one person complained that she had to share a taxi this week.

Am I being ureasonable to be miffed that I had get my arse (and car) into gear when others were chaufer driven?

As you say, you don't know their circs

Be proactive, ask if you can share with one of them, even if only to watch those who complain about it die of apoplexy

I used to get taxis to training courses because my son received disability living allowance due to his autism. Cars were provided by a local charity, and you had to be referred by an agency working with your child.

So depending on the type of course, it's possible that there might have been parents of children with diagnosed behavioural disorders, hence they'd qualify if there's a similar charitable arrangement in your area.

How was the course, anyway? Do you think you gained much from it? I really hope you picked up some useful ideas.

Afterthought (amazing how a couple of hours kip can clear the brain)

I'm on benefits, and although I am entitled to enrol onto courses for free transportation is my own issue as far as I am aware

It seems odd that they give everyone a taxi apiece - you'd think the charity would organise a shared taxi, if only to cut down on costs.

I think you ahve to look at it that you are lucky enough to afford your own car and they are reliant on other people to do the same things - it would irritate me.

FWIW, I'm on a free parenting course at the moment but I doubt if anyone has their travel costs paid for them.
