To get “Revenge” on Neighbours

Nextdoor’s children are “shriekers”, over the top girls (aged 10 and 6) who scream, whine and yell all day long. This afternoon they have been playing and arguing so loud we can hear them over all 4 floors of our house. It’s particularly bad in the living room and they are so loud we can hear them over the television.
It’s constant and annoying.
No SEND, they are just brats whose parents don’t install any boundaries.

AIBU to therefore stream Cardi B’s unedited version of W.A.P to my television and blast it out, repeatedly, at ear splitting full surround sound volume?

OP posts:
KezzaMucklowe · 23/03/2025 19:44

Go for it. It's the only way to get through to some people unfortunately.

AThousandPiecesInAPuzzle · 23/03/2025 19:44

Mosquito device??

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 23/03/2025 19:49

Shall I lend you my dad, OP?

Deaf as a post, won’t wear a hearing aid and has just discovered his love for every single zombie horror film ever made?

AHotMango103 · 23/03/2025 20:04

Ive had this a bit too OP

people are cunts and dont care about anything but themselves

SuspiciousChipmunk · 23/03/2025 20:06

I’d do! I can’t stand shriekers or parents who don’t parent.

Liverpool52 · 23/03/2025 20:07

YANBU Op - of course children make noise but what you describe is excessive. Evidently some responses from people who are very jealous about the amount of floors on your house.

wizzywig · 23/03/2025 20:08

Join in op. It'd be cathartic

Hallamlass · 23/03/2025 20:12

CallMeDaphne · 23/03/2025 19:34

I’m a bit unclear how many floors the OP has in her house.

Nor me. I think, maybe 4?

😂😂

We used to live next door to a couple who were very lively and loud in their moments of passion, which appeared to take place all over the house. They were both men who had deep, strong voices, so the noise - grunting - carried significantly through the walls.
We wondered what to do and say, until, unbidden, our son (aged about 6) said to them across the fence "Jack, we heard you and Fin doing that piggy game again!".
Quiet thereafter.
My point; genuinely, a lot of people don't know how loud they're being until told!

Hallamlass · 23/03/2025 20:12

😂😂

I'm a bit nonplussed about why my (I thought!) very mild 'joke' about needing a stairlift to navigate a 4 storey house has been removed for 'breaching talk guidelnes'.

SpectacularBlahaj · 23/03/2025 20:20

Have you tried contacting your council with a noise complaint? If you’ve tried asking next door and they’ve ignored you, it might be a reasonable next step.

Really? How strange!

Now that is painful. Thoughts and prayers 🙏.

if you have a hose get it and hose the children down

And give them a bunch of daffodils as well!

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 23/03/2025 20:24

And Match of the Day.

i forgot Match of the Day.

duckywoof · 23/03/2025 20:26

We had exactly the same with our neighbour's kids for years. Then the parents started using their annex as an Air BnB and the kids went strangely quiet whenever they had guests, which made us really cross, as it was clear then that the parents knew it was annoying and obviously didn't care about their neighbours. Sadly, the Air BnB didn't last long, so things went back to how they were. I feel for you, OP - out of sheer desperation, I considered doing something similar, though never did. Kids are teens now so have grown out of it, as your neighbours' kids will eventually do. And when they do, you'll just have to hope the parents don't go and get several hens and a cockerel, as ours have just done.😕

Even more painful. That's dreadful with regular sound levels.

Everyoneishangry · 23/03/2025 20:47

You don’t like the kids behaviour so will just join in and take it up a notch from loud to loud and inappropriate?
Unusual approach.
The kids will probably think you’re one of them (if they don’t already).
Good luck 😂

Glitchymn1 · 23/03/2025 20:53

Do it. Play the WAP. 🤣 Then Eminem.

ShodAndShadySenators · 23/03/2025 21:03

Could be wrong but I think many councils have rules on cockerels in urban areas, ie it's not permitted. Maybe you could google your LA's guidelines @duckywoof

I would recommend Rammstein for that purpose, much better than Cardi B:)))

Read the thread title and thought you'd taken the axing of Neighbours very hard 🦘

Same

Done that many times over the summer.

That's assault.

farmlife2 · 23/03/2025 21:26

The good thing is, you can be noisy too. If they aren't considerate, why should you be?
