Whether you do a roast or something else, is the main Sunday meal something a bit special in your home, or a pretty ordinary rotation?

IABU= ordinary meal that you might have any day of the week
IANBU= a slightly special meal or something you don’t have in the week

We do; our Sunday’s are quite traditional - I pop the joint in the oven, prep the veg, we go to church then come back and generally eat a roast around 1pm followed by a traditional pudding (we only have a proper pudding once a week). In summer we’ll do something lighter or maybe have our main meal in the evening if we go out after church to the beach etc.

Assuming it’s a “normal sunday” after our roast we’ll go for a walk or a family bike ride, then come home, play board games etc with DS and have a tea of sandwiches and cake. It’s a nice way to make something of the day and differentiate it from Saturday’s.

We never have lunch at home so it's not really a special meal. In the week we are at work and at the weekend tend to be out and about so will just buy something on the go. We have never had a proper Sunday meal and I wouldn't really want to, tbh.

I do a Sunday roast maybe once a month, other times we’ll have something like sausage and mash, casserole or a curry - so something that takes longer to cook than a normal weekday meal but not always a roast.

Just to add we never have Sunday roast at lunchtime, it’s always for dinner in the evening.
