Large lump in pectoral

Soootired23 · 23/03/2025 11:11

I was getting ready for my long ride today, and noticed a large mobile lump (the size of a large grape) around my pectorals. I have extremely saggy breasts and it definitely felt within the muscles than around my breast tissue. It doesn't hurt at all.

So AiBU to think it's just a benign abscess and it's nothing to worry about?

It sounds like it could be a lipoma but I'd still want to get it checked out.

KimberleyClark · 23/03/2025 11:13

Lipoma or maybe swollen lymph node?

Soootired23 · 23/03/2025 11:22

I guess it doesn't feel between skin and muscle, but deep between different muscles

Nobody here can say, you should go and get it looked at just to be sure.

HellonHeels · 23/03/2025 11:26

That needs to be assessed. Please don't just leave it.

The thing is that ive had at least 6 lump in my armpit (opposite arm) that ended being spots/ pimples

A large, mobile lump needs to be checked out by a doctor.

I'm not sure why you posted, you seem to just be ignoring everyone and posting your own diagnoses? Confused

Because I feel stupid going once again, getting all the protocol kick started again, when it might be nothing AGAIN. I've had them done at least 4 times in the past 13 years.

And what if it's not nothing and the appointment saves your life? Confused

Inmydreams88 · 23/03/2025 12:12

So what if it turns out to be nothing for the 100th time, you need to get it checked.

Some breasts / armpits are more lumpy than others. It might be a bit tiresome going through the referral process, but is it also the worry that once you start the process it gets more real and more worrying?

I hope you will get it checked and wish you the best X

I’m a sonographer and we’re very happy to scan people like you, please don’t feel stupid - it’s never a waste of time even if it turns out to be nothing

It's more the idea that one they they'll ignore me, as it has happened so many times. It feels bigger and almost cylindrical today, but no pain!

They won’t ignore you. You need to get it looked at.

That's where it is. I reckon it's a breast infection/abscess. I had one last year that resolved itself .
The previous year I had another one when the doctor told me it was virtually impossible to have one because I wasn't breastfeeding.
