Are my expectations to my sister too much?

I am wondering if I am BU. Me and my sister live far away from each other, we do see each other like 2 or 3 times a year and text on whatsapp almost every day. When I had my child I made her godmother, she is lovely to my son when she sees him but is otherwise not really too bothered (as in, doesn't really ask much about him etc.) Yesterday she sent a photo in our family chat holding her friend's child and commenting on how cute she is etc. It gave me a bit of a sting, as silly as it sounds.

Tbh, it sounds a bit like you want her up care and be involved I. Your life but don’t want her to share or have joys in her own life. Just because she doesn’t ask doesn’t mean she isn’t interested in your son, perhaps you share frequently so she feels up to date without asking? (I feel like this about me nephews football- there are so many updates on SM and group whats apps that I just don’t feel the need to ask for further updates from my sister as I already know so much!)

I hope this comes across kindly, as I say this from my experience as a first time mum… you had this baby and your entire world changed, but no one else’s did! Be happy for her she had this nice experience with her friend and look forward to when you next have the chance to get together xx

I think that you are a little bit unreasonable.
Your sister writing that another baby is cute, that does not mean that she doesn't think that your child is cute.
You write that she is "lovely" to your son when she sees him, so that is lovely and nice.

How old is your son? Do you send photos of him to your sister? If he is old enough to paint/draw, perhaps he can make a little picture for his aunt and godmother?

I think daily contact and a visit every 4/6 months is fine if you live far away.

You can't expect her to not have a life of her own or care about other people in between visits though.

Thank you- I actually feel much better knowing I was probably being a bit unreasonable to be honest! Just need an outside perspective I think...
