It’s driving me crackers.

Me: Cup of tea?
DH: Er hm uh mmm

Me: Shall I collect the kids today or you?
DH: Mm yeah

It’s resulted in some extremely irritating miscommunications over the last few years but however arsey I get he still doesn’t respond with a simple YES or NO

Arghhhh

Get his hearing checked.

Or her hearing checked.

Could you have hearing issues OP?

DinaofCloud9 · 19/03/2025 17:54

Are you sure you don't need your hearing checked?

My mum says I mumble. I don't, she just can't hear and won't accept it.

Jabberwok · 19/03/2025 17:55

Could you also please tell my dw not to talk to me as she walks into another room, or when I am downstairs and she is up and not to get the hump when I can't hear her!😂

Yellowpingu · 19/03/2025 17:56

I used to say that. Then whilst travelling we listened to something on the radio about hearing loss which really resonated. You can do a simple hearing check online through RNID. I now have a hearing aid!

Could you have hearing issues OP?

Well, he has zero issues responding clearly when it’s a friend/colleague.

My DH does this. It's not my hearing as the kids comment on it too, he just doesn't speak properly so all his words run into each other. It's infuriating.
