Hrt blood tests

My partner is very anxious she had blood tests for hrt yesterday, doctors reception rang today and said we need to make a telephone appt with doctor within the next month. My partner has health anxiety and is so worried about it since the blood was only given yesterday. Does anyone else know the process? Anyone had anything similar? Thank you

Peri-menopause is (should be!) diagnosed on symptoms alone. Blood tests are not helpful as hormones fluctuate so much. But it's good to check whether anything else is causing or contributing to symptoms. Does your OH know what her tests were? Can she check on the NHS app? Two tins that come to mind for me, having been on this journey myself, are anaemia and under-active thyroid, both of which can cause tiredness and general unwellness.

What she can be absolutely sure of is that there is nothing sinister in this callback. If there was, she would have been told to make an appointment ASAP. Whatever it is, it can wait at least a month.

Thank you she has health anxiety and when she asked for hrt the doctor said they would like to take blood test due to anxiety issues etc so just got really worried that the reception rang the next day. Been on citaplrom for quite while and has been back a few times for in relation to anxiety so she now worried due to the fast response there's something wrong. Much appreciated

I very much doubt the blood results have even become available to the surgery yet as sample only taken yesterday. I would imagine this is a standard follow up appointment.

This is exactly what I said to her. Obviously not being a woman I'd like to hear from other women to help her to stop being worried. I did say this is probably just standard procedure. Thanks

My doctor called me as I was low on iron.

Does she have symptoms of peri/menopause? You mention health anxiety.

Blood tests aren’t reliable as hormones fluctuate during the day. Hrt should be prescribed based on symptoms not her blood results.
