I just got a Brita filter. Is it normal that it drips super slowly?

I can't find any videos or anything of what it should look like. But it takes absolutely ages for it to filter water?!

No it should trickle through and take a few mins for a whole jug of water. Make sure you’ve pushed the cartridge down in its place firmly. If you use unofficial cartridges they are not directly compatible with all Brita jugs and you have to use a little adapter that comes in the box with the cartridges.

The water isn't supposed to come through all that quickly. This video shows a pretty slow trickle. The idea is that you top it up and leave it in the fridge so there's filtered water available when you need it. If you try to filter water 'in real time' when needed you'll find it pretty frustrating, I think.

Did you soak the filter before use?

My filters have always given a good level of flow when filled
