It's a teen one!

They are vaping.. tried everything to educate and stop them BUT no. They know better.
They have decided they are vaping in my bathroom or in their room (it flippen stinks). I continually bring it up that it is NOT ALLOWED. They ask for proof they are actually vaping as obviously my smell (and others that have smelt it) are actually lying because there is no smell 🫣🤔

What do I do?! We have genuinely tried everything... We have tried every approach, said teen gives no f***

Where are all these teens buying their vapes from?

Have they stopped vaping in the house? Do they know when you do the search? I'm going to apply this approach. I've younger kids and it's so unfair on them!

Teenagers are incredibly frustrating. I feel I'm a fair parent and very respectful. I just can not process this kind of behavior.

Yes, they don’t vape in the house, as I have applied the consequences when i could smell it just after we had agreed this approach.
It’s been a boundary I am not willing to cross so had to be clear I meant it.

It’s not easy to stand your ground but I think it’s worth the battle. Just keep telling yourself you are absolutely within your right to do this and know that you’re not on your own!

And yes, she knows I do the search as she has to hand me her bag, and stand over me whilst searching her room …

Teens buy it if other teens (18+?) quite often.
or online as they only have to tick the box to say they’re over 18 🤯

Dd (17) vapes. We’ve spoken about the risks however me and dh both vape. 😐

She has a job and pays for it herself, I can’t exactly force her to quit. I’ve made her aware it’s her health she’s ruining.

I understand addiction, I smoked. I enjoyed it very much however, oddly enough once I found out I was pregnant with them, I stopped! I'm an non smoker 17 years now.
I have given them plenty of education/support also, and they are still making the choice to vape. They said they like the taste, I'm not sure if it tastes good? I believe it is unacceptable to do it in my house especially when asked to stop, they can go elsewhere. It's the pure ignorance and behavior that they are displaying.

They look older than 16 and there are shops who sell to under age. Older people in the school/friends get them for them.

I will have a chat with them this evening when they get in from work. I do believe this is the route to go down. They are very explosive when they don't get what they want! They are looking to buy a new car for their birthday but I doubt that will happen as their money is going on these vapes!
