Would this give you the ick or am I just out of date?

So first time trying online dating since separating from my husband of 20 years a few months ago. First guy that messages me is a decade younger than me but says he doesn't mind the age difference. Is that a red flag in itself? Then he asks what I did today and when I said I had a rubbish game of golf, he replied " I'm sure you're a better kisser". This has immediately given me the ick. He hasn't even met me and this seems unnecessarily sexual. But then I think that maybe this is normal - after all, it is dating! Opinions please! Am I being unreasonable and its fine/ normal?

A man leading with “Oh I don’t mind the age difference!” is a red flag. If he’s pursuing you on OLD, a platform that includes your ages, then obviously he doesn’t mind and it doesn’t need to be stated. Him bringing it up immediately would most likely be the start of a pattern where he was constantly referencing the age difference as a way to make you feel insecure (“Because I’m younger than you,” “Since you’re so much older than I am,” on repeat). In other words, negging based on you being older than him.

It’s another great way to weed them out though.

God, I used to hate it when they came out with shite like that.
ANY excuse to be sexual, and in this case just from an innocent comment about a round of golf.

The kissing thing would definitely make me feel a bit uneasy. The age thing not so much by itself, but when coupled with the kissing thing perhaps that would too. I wouldn’t be thinking this man was a keeper; but obviously it’s different strokes for different folks.

OLD men like to date older women because they expect them to be more eager to please in the bedroom, thrilled that they’ve landed a hot young stud. They think these poor women have escaped sexless marriages and are gagging for it and desperate to show off their experience. He’s warming you up for THE PASSION!

All great advice here. I thought this guy must be a creep and you've prepared me that he probably is. I'm not after a casual shag and I think he is, so I'll pass.
