To think they should refund me?

I had tear trough filler done and it looked awful. They said I’d signed the contract and they have no liability towards me.

I’ve now been to two practitioners who have both reviewed it and said it’s been done incorrectly and they’ve inserted below the tear trough line.

The clinic have been horrendous to me. I did a review and started crying I was so upset with the result and she asked to take another photo (whilst I was in floods of tears) I declined and she slammed her phone down. And told me to leave.

YABU to not have done your research and looked into their work and what happens if you are not happy, prior to letting them inject you

If you can get the other two practitioners to put it in writing as proof, then I’d send them a Letter Before Action and say if they don’t refund you, you’ll take it to Small Claims Court. Small Claims is quite straightforward.

You have to do the Letter Before Action first to give them one last chance so to speak and it also serves as a warning. If you Google Letter Before Action templates you’ll get some examples of what you need to put in it to make it ‘official’. And make sure everything is in writing so you have a record. When we sent an LBA we posted it from 2 different post offices and got free certificate of posting for each and that was enough to deem it had been delivered - in case the recipient tried to ignore it.

Alternatively, (and again if the other practitioners are willing to back you up in writing), you could try chargeback or S.75 with your bank, depending on how much it cost and how you paid. That might be a quicker route.

I'd see if the bank can charge it back. Then the onus will be on them to prove they provided the service as agreed.

Of course I looked into their work and had consultations and read reviews 🙄

Thank you so much for your advice. It’s much appreciated.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes 🤷‍♂️

There is absolutely no guarantee that you are going to like the way a service looks ok you. You can't have a refund just because you don't like it. Obviously their competitors will bash their work, they're hoping for you to come to them.

Stripeyanddotty · 14/03/2025 20:00

What qualifications have any of these practitioners got?

If they inject the wrong area then it’s not me not liking it.

If you went to get your hair blonde and they dyed it brown would you just say well they did the service of changing my hair colour so?

And you have no further information regarding the practitioners, you’ve just jumped to assumptions. One doesn’t even offer that treatment anymore as she retired in November.

Can it improve over time, or can it be dissolved and re-filled?

Bignanna · 14/03/2025 22:06

It’s so risky having filler in that area-I’d never have it done there!
