I'm probably hyping this up too much but it doesn't hurt to be cautious.
DH and I have a 5 year old and a 10 month old and last night our contraception failed. My periods started again about two weeks ago and after plugging my dates in a fertility app, lo and behold, today is my expected day of ovulation.
I've collected a MAP but here's where I'm worried-- my daughter is on three solid meals a day but still nurses 4-6 times a day. She won't take a bottle and would not accept the bedtime feed from a cup or something. I've got the Levonorgestrel and I'm wondering whether to take it straight away to maximise efficacy, or whether to wait until after bedtime feed as the instructions say mothers may wish to take after feeding and wait 8 hours to minimise infant exposure. Then I can hope she'll sleep through and that'll cover me for those eight hours.
I am also concerned about the efficacy given that all the stars are aligning for a pretty good chance of conception, if we were trying (we are not). Has anyone gotten pregnant after taking Levonorgestrel?
AIBU-- just take the pill now, it'll be fine and waiting makes it less effective.
AINBU-- wait til later to protect your infant, your chances of conceiving are still pretty slim.
