To be at the end of my tether with complaint?

I have raised a complaint with my DD's school in Spring last year. I finally got a response in July 24 and at that point escalated the complaint to the governors. Despite chasing it up many times I have still heard nothing.

Is there anything I can do? There is no way to contact the governors directly everything just goes through the school office so I don't even know if the governors have ever seen the complaint or if they are just the same as the school and just don't think their own complaints procedure applies to them.

The response to phoning or asking at reception is I have to email in. But I never get a response.

Copy in your MP.

Would your complaint be of interest to your local news teams on television/local newspapers. I imagine the school would be quick t sort it out if you told them you are going to contact the local media.

It could be. My complaint is about discrimination against my autistic daughter.

Look on the school website for the Governors - there should be a direct contact for the Clerk. If they've put down the office email instead, then open up the safeguarding policy, where you should find the email of at least the Governor responsible for safeguarding if not the Chair.

If it's an academy that's part of a MAT, also look for the MAT CEO, Governance Lead and Chair of Trustees on the MAT website.

They’re surely hoping if they ignore you long enough you’ll drop it. That riles me so I’d definitely ramp up - governors and MP.

The document gives the name of the safeguarding lead governor but no email address. I have the email of the clerk but it doesn't deliver if I try and use it. School say it must all go through the office email.

It is a single academy trust and the governors are also governors of the trust. However there are some names who are 'members of the trust'. No email addresses, though just names.

Me too! Just wish every step wasn't so difficult. I'm coming to the conclusion this is a deliberate attempt to stop people speaking to the governors.

I have emailed my MP now. Just hope I get a response.

I did copy him in on a previous email but got no response.

OfSted.

@UndertheCedartree you need to complain to the dfe. https://www.gov.uk/complain-to-dfe

there’s no point complaint to Ofsted they won’t look into specific complaints and unless it’s like a giant safeguarding beach they don’t contact the school.

Council say you have raised a complaint with the school and it's ignored
