I'm 34.. also didn't realise how hairy my face is!
I'm just interested to know if I can do anything about this, any treatments or procedures. Just feel awful looking at these pictures.

This just looks like normal skin to me, nothing bad

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 07/03/2025 20:53

That's an eyebrow. They do tend to be hairy! 😬

Great lips by the way! 👄

p.s. Your face isn't hairy!

I mean this really kindly, your skin looks fine and no one else will be looking this close up!
I’m sure there will be recommendations for serums and treatments and lasering etc
but I’d just keep exfoliating (not every day if you don’t already!!) and moisturising and using an spf.
I’ve got so many serums and lotions and potions as dh refers to them but my skin is textured, all skin is, it’s not abnormal.

paintedwallpaper · 07/03/2025 20:55

your face can be seen very small in the mini photos under - just wanted to let you know in case this concerns you and you want to withdraw them

Poppyseeds79 · 07/03/2025 20:55

Just buy a pack of dermaplaning razors. They cost about £4

Ricecakesaremyjam · 07/03/2025 20:58

Don’t do dermaplanning! Molly Mae said it made her face a lot hairier! (I feel like such a knob typing that but honestly I have read that once you start doing it you can’t stop so felt it my duty to tell you 😂👍🏻)

EvansHal · 07/03/2025 20:58

Quite normal and remember nobody ( well nearly nobody, depending on your relationship 😍) is going to be this close to your face.

Saying that, I’ve started using Dermatica prescribed creams for my larger pores, after following the thread linked. Good to see some reports overtime. The consultation was quick and I feel I’m in safe hands with potions prescribed.

Has anyone tried Dermatica? | Mumsnet

Overheard a lady sitting next to me at the hairdressers talking about Dermatica and saying great things about its products & her monthly subscript...

I think you're being a bit hard on yourself. Unless you're a teenager, many people don't have perfect skin close up like that!

ChangingHistory · 07/03/2025 21:03

That does look perfectly normal, good actually! You just don't see real skin close up like that.

However if you'd like something to refine texture you could get a prescription from Skin & Me or Dermatica.

TheFatCatsWhiskers1 · 07/03/2025 21:10

Skin is naturally textured. What do you think it should look like? Can you post a photo of someone with the the type of skin you want?

newbeggins · 07/03/2025 21:11

Polynucleotides

curiouscat1987 · 07/03/2025 21:13

Totally normal skin texture! But if youre unhappy with it, a good retinol product would help 🙂

ShortWide · 07/03/2025 21:17

Paula's choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant AND Paula's choice niacinamide 20% treatment.

ForestFox44 · 07/03/2025 21:22

From somebody who suffered badly from body dismorphia regarding my facial skin texture... there is absolutely nothing wrong with your skin. All skin has texture (I have learnt to accept this). If I would suggest anything at all it would be using pixie vitamin c tonic 1x or 2x a week. It always made my skin smooth and glow. But seriously you look like you have good skin... don't mess with it too much it will only cause problems

AnotherDayanotherNameChangeX · 08/03/2025 01:46

Polynucleotides just don't work in my opinion

Collagen serum from the inky list is good, aswell as YSL blurring primer before any makeup

Evibella · 08/03/2025 01:55

Hair is fine on the face. It's supposed to be there. You could try some salicylic acid. Paulas choice bha exfoliant is super, it'll get rid of the forehead bumps. Just be aware of how your skin reacts to things and test it out on a small area first. Start slow 🐌

NewbieSM · 08/03/2025 07:01

FWIW you don't have a hairy face, but if it bothers you, just dermaplane and shave it off, it won't grow back thicker like some people say, it just feels more stubbly when it grows back as you are cutting the tapered end of the hair off.

As for pores and skin texture, your skin looks really good, clear and an even tone, everyone has larger pores in those areas as they tend to be a bit oilier. You could use a niacinamide or salicylic acid serum but for best results tretinoin is your friend.
