To think that deep down, everyone wants to be rich?

People love to say that money isn’t everything, but let’s be real - who wouldn’t want financial freedom? Not necessarily yachts and private jets but just enough to never have to stress about bills or work in a job you hate.

Some people act like they wouldn’t want to be rich but I don’t buy it. AIBU to think that if given the chance, nearly everyone would choose wealth? Or do some people genuinely not care?

I’d be over the moon to have a million pounds.
But if I won 100 million I’d genuinely be more scared than happy. I’d worry about losing my friends, my community and my whole life as I know it.

There's no deep down about it - i'd love to be rich!!

I think most people want the choices that wealth would provide, even if those choices would not necessarily mean ostentatious displays of wealth. If I was 'money-is-no-object' wealthy, I'd still live a pretty simple life on a small holding in the countryside, tinkering and making do, but just not worrying about money.

Being rich would be strange but I would be a much more Bill Gates than Elon Musk type of rich. I would find ways to redistubr my wealth to support the poorest people in the world.

Yes, i agree, wealth with a purpose would be a lot more fulfilling. In a way having a 'job' of using the wealth, having some non-wealth goals/interests and using your wealth to reach them.
