To think there's somewhere i could move?

Posting for traffic but I've been thinking about moving to a different country sometime in the future. I'm in Yorkshire, have lived several places in the UK and also lived in Germany for a few years. My main reason for wanting to move again is the weather, specifically the damp/humidity here. I actually love the mist and fog aesthetically but it gets boring after a while.

I grew up in Manchester so I'm not unused to rain! But as I've gotten older I've developed various health issues and widespread joint/muscle pain which is exacerbated by the damp and humidity. I also get SAD symptoms in winter increasingly. The lighter mornings and early evenings this week have been great!

I actually enjoy certain aspects of winter but I prefer dry winters. I've been in Italy for a few and it's so different, bright and crisp.

So ideally I think I'd want to live somewhere in the rest of Europe again, however - I also don't do well in heat. Anything above 24 Celsius is kind of unbearable if humid. The heatwaves in Europe these past couple of years have been concerning.

So, not too cold/damp, but not too hot? I'd love somewhere mild and brisk year round to be honest, maybe some sunshine when it's appropriate. I have no idea if this place even exists. Does it?

Do you have an EU passport?

Have you lived on east coast of uk? Much drier. My area gets nearly 3000mm/yr (west coast) but the equivalent east coast is only 700mm or so - pretty dry! There's a nice map here https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/learn-about/weather/types-of-weather/rain/how-much-does-it-rain-in-the-uk#:~:text=As%20can%20be%20seen%20in,parts%20of%20the%20UK%20include:

If settled on moving abroad, could you narrow it down by telling us which countries you have a right to live and work in?

How much does it rain in the UK?

Find out how much rain we get in the UK and where gets the most rainfall.

No, only British passports. But my DH works for a company with offices worldwide and a transfer could be arranged. Otherwise, he would search for a suitable new job with visa provision in the preferred country (he is in tech and skills are sought after). Obviously, we wouldn't assume we could move anywhere without a job in place. I'm a freelance photographer and we have no children or plans to have them.

Maybe look up the rainfall in your current area and decide what your ideal would be and tell us that? People might be able to suggest places then.

'Sheffield, UK receives an average of 818.12 millimeters (mm) of rainfall per year. This is equivalent to 36.4 inches.'

So, less than that I suppose?!

I would suggest Sweden or Denmark - we lived in Copenhagen for a while- high services , high wages, but high tax too , it definitely didn't feel as rainy, more sun, more snow and summer was often around 23 to 25 - very liveable- same in Sweden

When I lived in Sussex and East Anglia it was definitely less humid than Hampshire where I currently am. I’ve not been but a friend tells me Canada is much more bareable in the winter because the humidity is lower.
