What do you take this to mean?

YABU - laughing with post ('I know, it's hilarious')
YABNU - laughing at the post ('pull the other one'/you're a joke')

OP posts:

Depends entirely on context - if it was a joke/funny post, then the former. If it was someone making a serious point that made them look an arse, the latter.

PriOn1 · 04/03/2025 13:21

If it was the latter, I would not be continuing in a relationship of any kind with that person, for any longer than I had to.

Very occasionally, I guess someone might laugh if I inadvertently wrote something funny and I might join in, when I saw the funny side, but other than that, someone laughing at you isn’t nice and someone who does that doesn’t like you.

WilmaTitsDrop · 04/03/2025 13:21

Completely depends on the post doesn't it?

If someone's said something witty, then obviously laughing with.

If someone's said something ridiculous or controversial then obviously laughing at.

It's an anonymous forum.

They don't know you, so it's a bit strange to assume they don't like you? 😳

Well it depends entirely on the context.

There are several posters I don't like. Every post of theirs I've ever read has been rude, condescending, self righteous etc.

The second I see their username I roll my eyes and know they're going to get on their soap box and start talking shit.

This also sums it up for me.
