My boss belittled me completely

Would love others opinion on this, I need to know if I'm over reacting or not.
I'm in a managerial position at work with one person above me. During one off my recent 1 week annual leave, my manager decided, without telling me, that she needed my office. My office, where I was on my own, where I could have confidential discussions with others, confidential meetings etc etc etc. Without any prior warning, she moved my desk space in to an office full of other people.
I turned up to work on the Friday, my last day off, to prep for a meeting on the Monday. And walked in to my office.....which no longer was mine. She laughed a little and said- oh I didn't realise you were coming in today. But yeah, sorry, I need this office.
I was off for 1 week. 1 week!! I wasn't on long term sick fgs! Surely this could have waited 2 more days (the office move had happened on the Thursday).
Since then, I've lost all my respect for her. Our relationship has deteriorated massively.
Am I over reacting? I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this. Thanks!

Did she not have her own office already? It's very odd she'd decide she needed yours! I'd expect to have a discussion about it in person, rather than be relocated when I'm on AL.

Yes she had an office. Totally bizarre. She's put someone else in there, so I can't have that either.

Can you have a conversation with her where you politely ask how you're supposed to do the confidential parts of your job without an office?

I've tried to. She's not listening. It's more to this story, but before my annual leave me and her had got great. She then dud this, and used a person that I manage, to help her. Since my annual leave, she's taken this other person under her wing, and I can't even speak to my manager because this other person is there all the time. Everyone else in the team have also noticed this, and I feel like she is totally belittling me.

Tell her that you can't do such and such as there is no where for confidentiality.
Is there a higher up boss?

I'd ride it out now til it reached crisis point. Every time you can't do something confidential, email her and ask what you should do. Every time the lack of office is a problem, email. Keep a paper trail. Then when the shit hits the fan, your arse is covered.

@baileys6904 she wasn't just using my office when I was off, she removed my desk and put a new desk there. Not as a present for me, it's her new office. So no, not been given my office back.

Massively disrespectful and she knows that and doesn’t care. She did it deliberately.

Time to look for a new job, OP. The stress ain’t gonna be worth it.

@Hazeby this is exactly my thoughts. She doesn't care that she did it, doesn't understand that it's disrespectful. So yeah, a new job is probably going to be the only solution.

Who cares that this other person is there? I’d be going above her head and to HR to create merry hell over the obvious bullying, and if they failed to resolve this I’d be considering tribunals and constructive dismissal if I felt I had no choice but to leave. This simply wouldn’t be allowed to happen where I work.

Walk. Give bare minimum notice, do bare minimum work and smile all the way through.

Or if you're feeling really punchy just move all her stuff out into the hallway when she's out of office and your stuff back in, tell hr about it and that it's always been your office and you needed it for a meeting.
