To ask if you know anything about Lebanese people?

Dn has started dating a Lebanese girl. I don't know much about them or their culture. Is there anything I need to be cautious if not doing when they visit? Or are they usually pretty relaxed?
I don't think I've ever met anyone from Lebanon?
I did Google but nothing much came up so am hoping I needn't worry?

Also really, people from non- British cultures dont really appreciate being described as warm and friendly. We are all different. Not a monolith. And not perpetually looking to take offense.

When we lived in the Middle East, our next door neighbours were Lebanese. They were so incredibly generous and caring. Frequently dropping amazing food round! The lady became a great friend and gave me cooking lessons.
During Ramadan (they are Muslim) they frequently invited us to break the fast after sunset . Fabulous memories!

Unless @OP is flying to Lebanon to actually meet this family then the burden is actually on them to behave appropriately. They live in Britain, so they'll be more nervous about meeting you than the other way round. Being courteous, polite and warm are qualities that translate well across all cultures.

A word of warning - Be yourself!, don't try to be what you're not. Don't try to impress them with aspects of their culture you don't know enough about, it'll come off forced, awkward and even offend & embarrass your DS. Don't rush out to buy some cheap lebanese clothing to try and impress them nor offer up weird compliments about anything you deem 'different' about them. If you're going to prepare a meal, other than quick query via your ds about allergies, don't go and lay out your newly practised 'Lebanese cuisine', it won't be authentic for them. Instead, make a staple British meal that you've got yrs of experience making e.g a nice roast, a pudding etc. It will be unusual for them and a delight.

I dated a Lebanese guy for a bit. He was very nice and smoked like a chimney Grin It's very common over there, I think.
