  1. Get rid of all tax cliff edges
  2. Get rid of tax credits and raise the tax threshold to 25k before you pax tax
  3. Instead of raising NI for employers, make work place pension compulsory for employers even if employees are non contributory.
  4. Means test state pension
  5. When things are free they are abused. Bring in a small charge for medical appoitments.
  6. Build lots of housing with lifetime tenancies for people who have jobs.

Thats for a start.

Employees should absolutely have to contribute to their pension, this should be compulsory.

I honestly don’t know enough about taxes to know if your ideas are good or not.

Lifetime tenancies if you’re working but what happens when you stop working and haven’t had to pay into a pension and don’t have a house as an asset? What will happen to everyone over the age of 68 who lived in one of your lifetime tenancies but only if you’re working places? Where will they live? What rent will they pay?

Increase income tax for all.

Put in place an Australian points style system for immigration.

Remove the incentive whereby one can be better off on benefits rather than working. Other countries laugh at us about that, understandably.

But we have an opt out of the pension schemes, sometimes because people can't afford it, and then the companies don't pay in either. This way some pension provision would be better than none.

Yes we have opt out for employees currently but why should employers be forced to pay when the individual cares so little for their future they don’t save for it? And as, under your ideas, no one would pay tax until they earn 25K, they can afford to pay into a pension scheme.

No.

I would have a standard pension for every person starting from when they join the work force even if it’s a Saturday job, not work placed but the employers take your number and pay into it - a pocket for each employer where the employee sets the terms - we can do it with NI we can do it with pensions.

I would also have lifetime tenancies but the property would have to suit your needs, not 4 beds for a retired couple - they need to give up family homes when their children have left home.

I would also put a cost on education so it’s valued.

Interesting.🤔 I would also put a cost on education so it’s valued.

But unfortunately they don't invest NI for future pensions. It's just a tax
