Would you make a complaint? Pharmacy

Laaaaaazzzzy · 22/02/2025 13:56

Was in a well-known pharmacy and they have a 'health desk' and a 'prescription desk'. I wanted to make an appointment for a consultation so I went to the health desk. Explained to the girl at the desk what it was for and she said I'd have to queue in the prescription queue. I said ok thanks and walked off.
Walked to the queue and saw this girl mocking me for going to the health desk, doing an impression and using gestures, and laughing with some guy?

I mean it's hardly the crime of the century nor is it that funny tbh? Was sort of tempted to say something or put a complaint in, it's not the end of the world but just to make a point.

what gestures did you do that were so specific you know she was doing an impression of you and not someone else?

not that she should of been making fun of people

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 22/02/2025 14:02

No I wouldn't. What do you think these gestures meant?

MumChp · 22/02/2025 14:03

No. I wouldn't.

Laaaaaazzzzy · 22/02/2025 14:04

It was right after shed spoken to me, and I saw her gesturing towards the other till, saying something like 'i was like you need to go there' rolling her eyes and laughing.

Just seemed a big coincidence but if I'm wrong then my apologies.

I would be irritated but I probably wouldn't complain. Very immature of the assistant

RosesAndHellebores · 22/02/2025 14:06

I'd gave called it out there and then. "If you have something to say young lady, come and say it to me directly." But I am an indomitable old bag and detest bad manners. I wouldn’t bother to make a complaint

MummytoE · 22/02/2025 14:07

I think you are probably right , sounds like she was trying to flirt with her coworker. If you feel compelled to I would maybe just speak to the manager informally, not make a big complaint. She might just be very young and immature, it's hurtful but she doesn't deserve to lose her job or anything

This. I would now, anyway. Probably not so much when I was younger and cared what people thought.

Laaaaaazzzzy · 22/02/2025 14:23

She looked very young, might be her Saturday job or something.

Are you an old lady?

BallerinaRadio · 22/02/2025 15:53

I think you're probably making a lot more of it than it was

Laaaaaazzzzy · 22/02/2025 15:56

No I'm not an old lady, not sure how that's relevant and no I know what i saw, no need to try and make out I'm exaggerating.

“An indomitable old bag” is what I’m aspiring to be!

Flamingoknees · 22/02/2025 16:02

Not great, but I wouldn't bother complaining. Hope you're OK OP, it's not ideal if you were feeling unwell.

ExtraOnions · 22/02/2025 16:05

I would have said something immediately.. I’m not sure if it’s menopause or middle-age, but I have no issues confronting stuff like this anymore.

Are you an old lady?

How rude and ageist. You sound very ignorant and stupid, or perhaps a silly wind up merchant.

Health47 · 22/02/2025 16:11

I would of just gone to the prescription desk and said
“hi, I just tried to make an appointment at the health desk but the lady over there that was just mocking me with her co worker for being in the wrong queue told me I needed to be at this desk. Can I make an appointment please?”

Queenanne20 · 22/02/2025 16:45

I'd have gone up to her at the time and said "I'm sorry, did you say something, were you referring to me?" Years ago, I was in the queue at Tesco, trying to buy an artifical plant that I really wanted and they only had one on the shelf but it had no price on, so the checkout operater called the manager over, who told me that they couldn't sell it to me as it wasn't priced up. I said that was ridiculous and couldn't they just estimate a price there and then, but she replied no and took it off me. I tutted and carried on packing the rest of my shopping and the manager immediately turned to the woman in the queue behind me and shook her head and said "crazy" to her, obviously referring to me. What she didn't know was that it was my sister in the queue behind me, who immediately told me what she'd said. The checkout operator told me the Managers name and advised me to complain, saying I wouldn't be the first to complain about her. However, when I phoned customer services they weren't really interested and I wish I'd called her out on it myself at the time.

It's one if joys of reaching one's mid sixties 😞. Along with dropping the nasty things containing men such as menstruation and menopause!

ohyesido · 22/02/2025 17:23

She absolutely does deserve to lose her job for such disrespect and unprofessional behaviour
