Worried about gases!?

I know this may sound stupid. And it’s my fault too. But I was cleaning our bathroom today. I never knew you shouldn’t mix cleaning products together tbh , I’ve always done it but I won’t from now. I used flash bathroom deep hygiene spray and end a clean and fresh line disinfectant. I sprays all the shower tiles walls of the shower and the glass door ( it’s an open shower now a door that closes ) and the floor etc. I then thought I would leave for 15 min to soak and go back to scrub . Well it’s the holidays and I forgot as had both kids at home!!!
my husband came home from work to shower , he got in and had a 1 min rinse before our son went running in she 3.8 and wanted to shower with him, my husband had no clue about the cleaning just knew he could smell cleaning etc. husband opened window , got in shower on his own for about 1-2 minutes , sprayed all the shower off , then our son joined him , but the bathroom did smell like cleaning products , and in so worried about the steam etc and my son breathing in all the products and what it might do to him. It was alrund 4/5 hours ago now and he’s been absolute fine . Would you worry? I’m going to attach the products used , my husband thinks I’m been ridiculous but am I? Would you worry or not? The bathroom was ventilated by a window open by the time my son went in but obviously he still went in and had a steamy shower

Sorry, I don't really understand your whole post? he got in and had a 1 min rinse before our son went running in she 3.8 and wanted to shower with him
It was alrund 4/5

If I understand, you left 2 different cleaning products in the shower, your husband washed it off and opened the bathroom window, and you are concerned about fumes? Is that correct?

Yes, you should never mix cleaning products. If you never did basic chemistry or no one told you this, then I can understand. You should always keep the windows and doors open when cleaning to allow ventilation too. Unless everyone was coughing, choking and complaining of a burning throat and chest, I'm sure they will be fine!

Honeyybee · 21/02/2025 20:28

So sorry, I’ve re read it and it doesn’t make sense! I was rushing typing as my anxiety is high. My fault!
well I did do chemistry but clearly not very well! I never knew not to mix them! I don’t think they contained bleach but still says on the back don’t mix.

what I meant is my husband went in the shower , he was in for about 1-2 mins before our son ran upstairs and wanted to get it ( I was downstairs ) so he let him , so hopefully some of the spray will of got washed away in those 1-2 minutes but I was still concerned about the fumes . No one was coughing , and it’s only tonight I thought about it and started googling. X

Flash without bleach and disinfectant will be fine.

Onlyvisiting · 21/02/2025 20:33

The risk is mixing bleach cleaners with acid eg limescale remover ones as it creates chlorine gas.

The warning to not mix on all cleaners is cos they doesn't trust us to know which is which, correctly apparently!
If there was a problem you would have noticed it already.
It has been rinsed away and no one had any reaction or issues breathing ?
It's fine, stop worrying!

Honeyybee · 21/02/2025 20:36

Thanks everyone, I tired to attach a pic but it won’t upload. It’s the flash ultimate bathroom deep clean hygiene spray. ( not the spray with the red on that has bleach in ) and a random disinfectant liquid too

You’d have noticed at the time so don’t worry!

Do you have health anxiety as I used to worry about this stuff when I did?

Honeyybee · 21/02/2025 20:38

And window was open , the spray got rinsed away for about a minute before my son entered. I think i was concerned about the steam in the shower creating fumes to breathe in and when i read about chlorine gas I nearly freaked out properly! It was 4/5 hours ago would we know by now if my son was not ok?

Yes, the irritation is pretty immediate. He's absolutely fine, OP, don't worry.
