Sorry I could not find a two week wait chat or ttc chat so posting here. Wanted to get some opinions/stories from others who have been through simillar. Myself and DH NOT actively trying for another baby (currently have DS and DD and happy with my lot) HOWEVER I am currently on CD 35 with no signs of af. Had unprotected sex sometime at begining of the month 😂 not tracking anything. Had a mid cycle bleed ond CD 16 and thought it was ovulation (a day of pinkish discharge when wiping) but now Im starting to wonder… I feel like af is about to start any minute, twinges, lower back pain, heavy feeling in lower abdomen, but have not had my usual monthly break out of spots and no af. Have ordered pregnancy test but im scared. Ive got rid of all baby stuff and youngest is about to start school full time in September. Could it just be a late cycle?

Sorry, no crystal ball here. Maybe pop to the supermarket or pharmacy and get a test?

Conception chat area hopefully linked above. People there are a lot more supportive.

Thank you for that :) Ive read lots of similar posts to mine that have had lots of support thought it would be worth posting my own experience, Im so confused by how horrible people are on here!

I think sometimes you just hit a different mood on here, unfortunate when you're looking for support.

People also often don't seem to understand that not everyone has a shop round the corner!

Best of luck with whatever happens.

Thank you :) We live in an extremely remote part of the country, but when posting I never really expected to have to try and explain that to people, just assumed people would be kind x

How old are you? After a point, your cycles do start to go wonky. I’m currently on day 60 something. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m absolutely not pregnant.

AIBU is vicious, and rightly so. Don't ask An I Being Unreasonable if you don't want to be told you're unreasonable!

People on the Conception board will tell you the exact same thing but they will coat it with sympathy and flowers. Much nicer, if that's what will help you feel better.

I too live remotely and can empathise on waiting for the test!

It is 😬 I did explain that I went looking for a more suitable ‘topic’ section, looking for ttc or two week wait or something but could not see, still no reason to be quite unpleasant… no matter what topic a conversation is on.

I don't know if it's unpleasant to answer that having unprotected sex and experiencing spotting means you might be pregnant? Also don't think it's unpleasant to suggest doing a pregnancy test!

Like I said earlier, if you don't use contraception what exactly are you expecting to happen?

Im talking about being told to “grow up” and people making assumptions about my personality that is unpleasant. I have not used contraception since being with husband at the age of 18, so that makes 14, nearly 15 years of unptotected sex that only lead to pregnancy with lots of trips to dr’s, fertility suppliments and actively monitoring ovulation right down to the packs and packs of ovulation strip tests, not very fertile at all so no i did not “expect it” Just wondered if the mid cycle bleed ever led to a pregnancy with anyone else?

Your bleeding sounds like the implantation bleed I had with all 3 of my pregnancies.

People who spend a lot of time and effort trying not to get pregnant assume everyone else has a similar experience.

A friend gave up on contraception as she’d had gynae problems and reason to suspect she was infertile. She was wrong!

I was quite outraged after years of contraception to find I didn’t get pregnant first try. It’s a different mindset from yours.

You’ve had to plan to hit maximum fertility.

Try and let the scolding was over you, it’s just a different perspective based on living near shops and fear of falling pregnant.

Nobody can tell you if you're pregnant or not. You had unprotected sex, so obviously there is a chance. You take a pregnancy test and that will be your answer. Not really sure what else you're asking.

FirstTimeMum881 · 21/02/2025 18:16

I got pregnant right after taking out my mirena coil. I never even had a period, I was so shocked!! If it took you 4years to conceive your first, no wonder you weren't being 100% careful. But this kind of stuff happens all the time.

It's hard to know what to do. I would LOVE another child but not a newborn 😂 if someone could hand me a 4 month old, I'd have 10 kids!!!

Good luck!!!

Sorry, asking if anyones experienced a mid-cycle bleed and it turned out to be a pregnancy related thing

I don't want to scare you but I am similar in the sense that I married dh at 22 and didn't use contraception. No baby for 9 years. In 2023 we starred thinking about having a baby and we did track cycles but not very religiously. Went to doctor to start fertility investigations early 2024 cos we knew nhs ivf has long waiting lists but cos dh was having issues at work we didn't think it was wise to ttc actively but continued having unprotected sex and get the ball rolling on fertility investigations. At the same time I was turning 32 that year and I wanted to have a baby by 34. I unexpectedly got pregnant in October 2024, after 9 years of marriage.

Dh is getting a vasectomy (already got a referral) cos I don't want to be pregnant again (health issues like gestational diabetes) and I don't think I can rely on my infertility. Cos apparently miracles do happen. I wasn't even having a lot of sex the month I conceived!
