Christmas in the USA

My apologies. I'm purely posting here for traffic. My sister has cancer, she's 37, three young children. When we were growing up we always watched Christmas movies, the cheesy type. She wants to spend Christmas in the US and stay in a house like we see in the films. Snow, open fire, christmassy town. I don't know where to start but I want to make it happen.

If Money is no object look at Kennebunk in Maine. Bar Harbour is near Acadia National Park. Stunning.

No advice! But I hope it goes well and you all have a lovely time!

Have a look at Newport, Rhode Island, it's very pretty and the mansions (used in "The Gilded Age") are beautiful when decorated for Christmas. Two hours drive from Boston.

and if you want something that is a bit more towny look at
Newburyport Mass
Portsmouth NH
Kennebunkport Maine

Many places have Christmas festivals on one of the weekends in the run up to Christmas, so you could aim for one of them and then actually be home for Christmas itself

if you need more help then PM me..I live on the East coast

Ooh, definitely Maine or Vermont! New England at Christmas - picture perfect.

Disney in Orlando is magical at Christmas.

As others have said, Maine, great if you like Stephen King too ! What a lovely sister you are, hope you have a fabulous time.

Talking about Canada now. I would imagine Niagara on the Lake would be magical. I went there in September last year. Of course, Niagara Falls would be stunning under snow and ice.
