AIBU to ask if you got a pay rise and how much it was?

The ONS reported earlier that the average wage has risen by 5.9% in the last quarter of last year compared to the year prior. Wage growth was apparently highest in the private sector, slightly lower in the public sector. At the same time, there seems to be a rise in unemployment in some sectors, reduced job vacancies and lots of reports that the job market is tough. I wonder how much of this is due to the large rises in the NMW and state pensions as I've not seen such large rises amongst friend/family except those at the bottom of the income spectrum.
I'm self employed and haven't increased my rates for a couple of years so obviously had no pay rise.
Can I ask whether you had a pay rise+/- bonus and what percentage increase it was? No need to state your salary.

0%, same as the year before. 0.5% the year before that.
Private sector.

Loveduppenguin · 18/02/2025 15:16

Forgot to say I am in the private sector

bettybyebye · 18/02/2025 15:20

3.75% April 2024
3.2% April 2025
private sector

ThatAgileLimeCat · 18/02/2025 15:24

3%this year plus slight increase in benefits package.

Nothing for most of the company last year, but I had a nice increase due to a promotion

Private sector but our income comes from government contracts ,so it's public money.

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 18/02/2025 15:25

12%

My role got re-graded, and was put at a rate reflecting the market. Previous two were 4-5%.

I was on Mat Leave at the time, so only got it once I came back a few months later.

JaceLancs · 18/02/2025 15:27

We got the NJC flat rate of £1290 on all pay points for 24/25
no idea what we will get this coming year

OddBoots · 18/02/2025 15:31

I do wonder how much minimum wage has made a difference as that was a 9.8% rise. As lots of people, in the private and the public sector are on minimum wage then this alone could account for a lot of the average increase.

Tarantella6 · 18/02/2025 15:38

Private sector, 3.5%. Standard was 3%. Ultimately it is what the company can afford - and different sizes / ownership structures / sectors will have different challenges.

Squirrelseatcake · 18/02/2025 15:40

4% last year after not getting an increase in 2023. Not sure if we are getting a pay rise this year.

Overthemoun · 18/02/2025 15:41

2% citing the NI bill and caution due to the budget. The lowest ever bar Covid. Usually 3-4%

HRHPRINCESSOFFLUFF · 18/02/2025 15:43

2.5% private sector.

anonhop · 18/02/2025 15:47

3%

NewHeaven · 18/02/2025 15:51

I've just negotiated a 30% payrise following a a promotion so quite pleased with this.

Sdpbody · 18/02/2025 15:54

We aren't giving a pay rise this year.

The NI will be quite tricky for us.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 18/02/2025 15:54

I didn't, joined the business too recently to qualify. Average was 3%.

Crunchymum · 18/02/2025 15:55

2.8%, private sector. Plus a bonus.

Overthebow · 18/02/2025 15:55

3%, private sector.

KurtCobainLover · 18/02/2025 15:56

Ours are based on the JNC scale which worked out about 4.9% this year for me.

CrispEater2000 · 18/02/2025 16:03

3%, which I didn't think was too bad considering I'd only been with the company around 8 months.

I had around an 11% increase after changing jobs, the year before I had around 13% previous raise in my old job. Really though that just brought my salary in line with where it should have been.

I hadn't had much of a raise in the previous few years though. Feast or famine.

Couldyounot · 18/02/2025 16:07

6% this year, which is a distinct improvement on previous years

Yellow2024 · 18/02/2025 16:11

4.5 %

TerroristToddler · 18/02/2025 16:15

Private sector
3% this year

aspidernamedfluffy · 18/02/2025 16:19

We don't get ours until July, but last year it was a 5% increase in salary and a bonus = to 5% of annual salary.

ItGhoul · 18/02/2025 17:01

3.2% for me personally but our individual circumstances (eg performance rating, position within our specific pay band) make a difference so some of my colleagues will get more and some less.

Ocularpatdown · 18/02/2025 17:02

1% for past five years running. Private sector
